    Game Day RND 5 - 🏈 Carlton v Adelaide Game Day 🏈

You know we are off when Curnow and Weitering get out marked back to back to cost us a goal.

    Game Day RND 5 - 🏈 Carlton v Adelaide Game Day 🏈

The cupboard was pretty bare. We wouldn't have if we didn't have so many injuries...literally any of Martin, Cerra, Cunners, Fog or Doc fit they would have played instead of Pitto. Maybe Motlop and JSOS too.

    Game Day RND 5 - 🏈 Carlton v Adelaide Game Day 🏈

Stat on the afl website says he has 8 goals in his last 9 quarters against us...ridiculous. He's been in poor form this year too.

Preview 2024 Rd 5 Carlton vs Adelaide Saturday April 13 4:35PM (AEST) @ Marvel Stadium

So from last week basically: Walsh for Cerra TdK for Fog: Kennedy to take Fogs midfield minutes and TDK replacing - Kennedy forward Owies for Carroll Far from our best team with multiple midfielders and Martin and JSOS out for the third tall role but should be good enough.

Adding another tall in TDK to our forward line and also missing Fog makes me worry about our forward line pressure. MC must be thinking if Cez is out replace with Kennedy, then we are very short up front outside Mckay and Curnow, hence TDK forward.

Preview 2024 Rd 5 Carlton vs Adelaide Saturday April 13 4:35PM (AEST) @ Marvel Stadium

We've lost our last 2 games vs Adelaide, 3 of our wins this year have been by small margins and our injuries/sore players are starting to rack up. Absolutely no reason our players should go in cocky.

Autopsy 2024 Rd 4 Blues win in miraculous escape

Fog rotates into the middle, but yeah with Kennedy it might be a combination of needing him to essentially play the third tall forward role with Martin and JSOS out, plus wanting a quicker, more agile player in there to avoid being too slow.

Autopsy 2024 Rd 4 Blues win in miraculous escape

Carroll has been ok but we are carrying him a bit with his low TOG and hes clearly our weakest link in midfield...im worried that there's too much load on our core mids with Carroll only a bit part contributor at the moment and injuries to Doc, Walsh, Cunners and now E Hollands. Smashed at...

Just need the injuries to go away and get a proper go at a deep september run.

Autopsy 2024 Rd 4 Blues win in miraculous escape

Loss of Cunners too which is underated imo. Watched replays of all our games and he was better than I thought on first viewing...he's different to our other mids, he's a classy one touch player and a good runner that adds to our link up plays. Too much currently left to our core mids and...

Autopsy 2024 Rd 4 Blues win in miraculous escape

This is where injuries to Doc, Walsh, Cunners and now E Hollands hurts. All the heavy lifting left to too few - mainly Cripps/Cerra/Hewett. Relying on Fog and Carroll to play pretty big roles now. Also Kennedy but with Martin (and JSOS) injured we need him as a third tall forward hybrid...

Autopsy 2024 Rd 4 Blues win in miraculous escape

We need a compilation of all our last minute goals to beat them over the years - Murphy, Newnes and Cottrell :) With the Titanic music of course.

Gawn and Jackson are both no.1 rucks and Melb won with them...key is both a pretty decent forwards and of course Gawn is the best ruck in the comp.

Injury Blue Healers Discussion - 2024

Cunners calf is the one I'm worried about...couuld end up being a long one. We have reasonable cover though our midfield stocks are dwindling.

Pearce has had a few good games this year but I don't recall him ever giving us much of a problem. Struggles against McKay & Curnow. Ditto Ryan. Brennan Cox is the one that I recall had a pretty good game against us but he's injured.

Autopsy 2024 Round 3 Bruising Blues Too Much For Roos

Loving our small forward and high half forward depth and competition for spots at the moment...huge improvement in recent years. Pressure is on for all of them to keep performing, none of them are untouchable. Having said that, think Cottrell for now is best 22...good tank, competitive animal...

Autopsy 2024 Round 3 Bruising Blues Too Much For Roos

Marchy first game this year and the free kicks against were very soft. Over the journey I can see why he is preferred to Kemp. Kemp is improving and a good interceptor but he loses contested 1v1 situations more often than Marchbank. Kemp is more of a third tall forced to play second KPD. Both...

Autopsy 2024 Round 3 Bruising Blues Too Much For Roos

I like the midfield rotation because if we want to go deep in September, we actually need to give our starting mids a 'rest' during games throughout the season...rather than running them into the ground with high TOG% all while playing midfield and then struggling physically during finals. On...

Autopsy 2024 Round 3 Bruising Blues Too Much For Roos

Poor North fans, shocking list management over the last several years. They kept going for mids and now they have too many young mids and almost no key talls or defenders...horribly imbalanced. Obvious one that stands out is picking Will Phillips over Logan McDonald. Sure, McDonald probably...

Autopsy 2024 Round 3 Bruising Blues Too Much For Roos

Such an amazing story is Fog. Destined for the scrapheap early last year, his inclusion coincided with us returning to winning ways...obviously not just down to him but he epitomises the values of what we became that Voss was trying to implement with his intensity, selflessness and focus on...

Autopsy 2023 Preliminary Final Blues brave season comes to an end

Yep both Brisbane and Collingwood have been pretty consistent finalists over the last 5 years...both have lost multiple prelim finals in this time and Collingwood a Grand Final in 2018. Both have paid their dues so to speak to deserve their spot next week. Us winning would have come from...

Game Day Around The Grounds - 1st Prelim - Collingwood v GWS

Really hoped GWS would win not only to knock Collingwood out, but I think they'd be an easier GF opponent if we make it. If they'd won, the GF would be their 4th interstate game in a row which would have been incredibly tough. They looked a little gassed in the last quarter vs Collingwood and...

Preview 2023 Preliminary Final Carlton vs Brisbane Sat 23rd Sept 5.15PM @ Gabba

And Port got well beaten by GWS at their home ground the next week...seems like they were a bit banged up so quality of opposition to Brisbane is suss. Think we are better than Port in a few areas which could be key: - Key forwards. Lord kicked 4 goals on Andrews. Marshall got easy shots on...

Preview 2023 Preliminary Final Carlton vs Brisbane Sat 23rd Sept 5.15PM @ Gabba

Very rare I would have thought to have 4 unforced changes heading into a prelim final! Like it though, it's bold and I think the right calls.

Preview 2023 Preliminary Final Carlton vs Brisbane Sat 23rd Sept 5.15PM @ Gabba

Missing a crucial stat for a defender...goals conceded directly from their actions or inactions. Don't think there is a proper recorded stat for that but the eye test shows Kemp cost us quite a few goals the last 2 weeks. Twice the commentators last week pointed out Kemp left his man free out...

Preview 2023 Preliminary Final Carlton vs Brisbane Sat 23rd Sept 5.15PM @ Gabba

Martin and Cottrell are basically like smalls at ground level...both have good speed, defensive intent and are goalkickers. Add to Motlop amd Fog that is basically 4 and good forward pressure.

Preview 2023 Preliminary Final Carlton vs Brisbane Sat 23rd Sept 5.15PM @ Gabba

Shocked at the number of people shocked at Kemps' omission. Probably cost us 4 goals due to being poor in aerial contests or leaving his man free out the back last week. He had a really poor game.
