Dramoth, How can you ever have enough "gun players". Your argument does not make sense. The more "gun players" a club has the higher that club will finish in all probability.
The club is actually going against your argument at any rate. E.G. Thornton, Fevola surgery...leaving Jamison on...
Dramoth, reading each of your posts you contradict yourself on many fronts. You argue that finishing off the season strongly would be of benefit to our group.
I would have thought that winning the NAB Cup (2 in the last 3 years) would provide more stimulus going into the H & A.
But what...
Sums it up in a nutshell. Great post. I could not agree more.
Surely the argument makes sense to even the most intellectually deprived.
Then again, don't hold your breath...who started this thread...there inlies the answer.
You start a thread on the front foot and your second past starts with "I don't want to change peoples minds".
I am a Carlton member (my whole family is, in fact) and I won't be told by you or anybody else for that matter how I should or shouldn't act or behave as a club supporter.
JR was played on the ball throughout the pre-season. He commenced all of our games in at the centre bounce.
He didn't make the most of his opportunities and found himself on the fringe.
The club showed a lot of faith in him in the off-season. He is yet to reward that, consistently...
He is not a good player by AFL standards.
His erratic decision making and game sense, lack of peripheral awareness and a failure to execute the fundamental skills will prevent him from going on and being a bona fide senior player.
He was selected prematurely in the 20's for mine.
I am comparing Kerr/Murphy beacuse unlike you I have facts to support my argument.
Daniel Kerr - drafted 2000 ND @ selection #18.
Daniel Kerr - 2nd WCE B&F 2002 (WCE played in AFL Final Series)
Marc Murphy - drafted 2005 ND @ selection #1.
Marc Murphy - will not finish 2nd in our B&F in 2007...
You are a F#$%^N idiot mate. You have just outed yourself as a ********. All talk and no action. Cheap it is to shoot your mouth off and not put your hand in your pocket and give financially to Carlton. I am the opposite..I don't grandstand but I do contribute financially (As well as all of...
Excuse me...relevance? The Kangaroos currently sit in 2nd spot after 17 rounds. What is the link between that example and Carlton playing finals next year?
We won't participate in finals until 2010 or beyond. Strap yourself in...we have done 5 years' in jail and need to serve another 5 until...
tl60...pre-requisites include: balding, overweight, mid-40's or 50's, still living at home and on centrelink...in other words doing f^&k all for our nation and worse, getting away with it!
I am a Carlton member. Are you a member - Yes or No? I am not prone to grandstanding...but now that you bring it up I tip my share of $$$ in.
If you are in Perth and do not recognise that Kerr is a much, much better player than Murph, well you are not a decent judge of AFL talent.
Well you ********s have not let me down. Your assessments are way off the mark...Daniel Kerr (given the injury predicament to Judd) with Gary Ablett Jnr are the premier midfielders going around at the minute.
Carlton fans remember, given that we live in a glass house (Angwin, Norman, Coleman...
Denis did not want to resign and if in the same position 99% of this board would have done the same. At the end of last year (2006) why resign and relinquish the best part of one million dollars.
You won't earn that type of cash between now and when you have your dirt nap.
Whilst your...
Please...He does not have the 'killer instinct' of a Daniel Kerr. Kerr, pound for pound, would have to be the strongest player in the AFL. His trunk/core strength for his size - less than 180cm and less than 80kg - is to be admired. In a football sense, Marc ought to model himself on Daniel...
This going to sound funny Bee but I think we have finally agreed on something. Hooray!
I reckon your mail regarding Laidley is spot-on...he is the sleeper in the Carlton coaching puzzle. He and Greg Swann have a healthy working relationship.
Will be interesting. I think, however, that on...
Melb, Ess, Frem chased the horse after it has bolted. Those clubs wanted to be seen as active in the market. We had the bloke, he declined at the 11th hour. Has happened before and will happen again.
You can't see my point? The fact Ratts has interviewed at Melbourne means that Carlton's...
Bee & jj78, I see Ratten was interviewed by Melbourne FC on Thursday. Confirms what I have said, Voss was the person of choice by the club. If the club was 100% sure on Ratts and had not spoken to someone at length (only to have that person pull-out) why on earth would he be interviewed by a...
I did have information about Voss.
Get it through both of your thick heads...Voss was interviewed by Carlton first, as a priority. Carlton's intention was clear...to hire Voss. Clearly, given Michael's change of heart the field opens up.
Why would Carlton commence prospective coaching...
The Carlton club wanted Vossy..no doubt about that. Michael simply changed his mind. I stand by what I said previously. Why else would the club interview Vossy ahead of Ratten? It is a no-brainer.
As for Kevin Sheedy. Carlton and Essendon both won 3.5 games last year. Essendon has won 9...
