Congress is tasked with oversight of the executive branch, so in theory the house can investigate anything they want, and you can be sure they will investigate plenty, up to and including whatever happens with Mueller in the coming days.
I don’t recall specifics but I thought it was an issue of “standing”. I’m not lawyer, and maybe, that in and of itself is significant in how they view the issue and whether or not they would hear a case in the future.
He’s not more popular than we realize.
He’s able to rouse his base and get them to the polls.
There is a difference. And in a country with poor voter turnout, that’s an effective edge that he has.
It’s a huge issue (obviously). Both sides are guilty of drawing ridiculous districts when they have the opportunity to do it, it’s just that in the last few decades the GOP has been so much better at putting themselves in position to be the ones drawing the maps, that things have gotten skewed...
Short term, the Dems are the big winners. That short term win would be just as relevant with a one seat majority as the 10-15 they’ll likely end up with, because they’ll now control the committees which gives them control of executive oversight.
Long term- the GOP Senate gains are significant...
