Koch: Hird should have been blacklisted

I think your on the money Dermott. Except I'm sure that Hirds extension would have many clauses about suspensions and any new charges would lead to dismissal without payout. Hird's future depends on every skeleton having been released or never to see the light of day. A new issue or a new...

Mega Thread Thymosin Discussion - Update -AFL 21/8 - Bombers officially charged with Thymosin beta issues

The US are widely known to assist cover ups for some of their sports, and for whatever reason charges against their various athletes were not made nor have athletes been officially named. Of the track and field, Where my strong suit lies in this, The athletes you mention apart from Lewis a...

Mega Thread Thymosin Discussion - Update -AFL 21/8 - Bombers officially charged with Thymosin beta issues

Are the players going to escape infractions because they don’t know which players took the banned Thymosin Beta 4 or because there accepting the no fault plea of the players. If it’s the latter they are shifting drastically from the last 30 years of world wide anti doping policy that if it’s in...

Until he says he was present when he knowingly saw a player take a banned drug it's nothing more than speculation like the rest of us. If he says it, than wow. But until than?

Ahmed Saad suspended for 18 months (ASADA appealing)

Spot on and there is some growing resentment in Track and field ands swimming community’s that for footballers/NRL players it is considered to be a mitigating factor in reducing penalty or even a lack of guilt where in those sports they have drilled it to them, you put it in your body it's your...

What do you think will happen from here?

Just out of interest why do you think AFL players deserve a protection that no other sport in the world get? No other athlete gets the I didn't know what was it in excuse. It's been used a thousand times in defenses in track and field/swimming, weightlifting. Use that excuse and it makes not...

WADA re-clarifies their stance on AOD9604

Correct He has no choice from a WADA point of view because for Australian athletes competing in sports fully signed to the WADA code ASADA screwing up leaves them up s**t creek with a paddle. He needs to say that to make it clear to swimmers and runners and badminton players that if what ASADA...

Mega Thread All AOD-9604 Discussion - Still Illegal but ASADA will not press charges on AOD9604 - McDevitt

Don't for a moment think I have formulated a final opinion. I just deal a lot with people from the athletics world. All I know is they are seething as anyone in their sport only gets let off if they can prove a competitor set them up.. and the burden of proof rests with them.

Mega Thread All AOD-9604 Discussion - Still Illegal but ASADA will not press charges on AOD9604 - McDevitt

I don't know how this plays out at AFL level but if this were an Olympic athlete ASADA advising them would have ****ed them as WADA rules would override. They would still be banned and lose any medals/prize money.

    Ryan O'Keefe: "If it's a banned drug, it's a banned drug regardless..."

That's fine, it is banned I agree, but I'm not sure your faith in the reason why at this point is substantiated.

    Ryan O'Keefe: "If it's a banned drug, it's a banned drug regardless..."

Is it?. Is it not on the banned list because it's not approved for human use list. There are different reasons substances are banned.

Would you take Jobe Watson's Brownlow away?

I hope your right because if your last sentenced turns out to be the case the track and field guys are going to scream loud.

Would you take Jobe Watson's Brownlow away?

It's specifically written into the memory's of those in the Athletics and the Swimming world. You are responsible for what goes in your body, there are no claims that you did not know what was in it. If you take something your coach/sports science crew gave you, it's a choice you made to trust...

Would you take Jobe Watson's Brownlow away?

In which case how, how are they not going to get a ban if they took a substance on the banned list. Hundreds of people have said they never knew what they were taking, my coach gave it to me never told me. If thats going to be the case than give the Chinese swimmers there medal's back. there's...

Would you take Jobe Watson's Brownlow away?

The AFL are not actually full signatories to the WADA code though are they grrofunger? IF they were he'd be goneski's but they cant actually enforce a ban.

Would you take Jobe Watson's Brownlow away?

I don't know fully how this works as AFL are not fully signed on to ASADA but if Watson was in an Olympic sport he would get a ban regardless of what his coach told him. I don't mind as the AFL got it's own rules but the tweets from the athletics community just started going nuts talking about...

Australian Crime Commission would end drugs in sport probe under an Abbott government

Politicians have more say over the ACC than the AFP for example as they are a commission who's terms of reference are set more by politicians than a regular law enforcement body who are meant to be considered at arms length from the political process. Having said that the ACC have been around on...

It's not an unfair question to ask him. Did you take the supplement, Did you sign the waver. Now as of yet we don't know what was in it. If it was legal than so be it, if it's not and a multitude of players took it what do they do. In ALL other sports there is no excuse for taking illegal...
