Horses get positive drug tests all the time and while they lose the prize money the betting has been resulted long ago and that is that.
The Brownlow would be no different. Not a factor at all.
Bet the AFL wish they knew the Mitchell news was going to break this morning. Could have stripped it...
Maybe you should try and find out what you were given by your employer too :p
The Russians were feeding their soldiers the stuff Sharapova tested positive to.
I doubt players were taking any supplements laced with Cobalt. There were a spate of horses that dropped dead there for a while from "heart conditions" that you have to think has links back to Cobalt use. Would knock a person around pretty well if it is flooring horses.

Arsenic from the horses eating fence posts is a better excuse.
Can you imagine before the prologue of the tour de france if they wheeled out Armstrong, Landis et al for a ride through the course or before the 100m at the Olympics they gave a lap of honour to Marian Jones, Ben Johnson, Justin Gatlin etc. It's just so ridiculous.
It was pick 51 for Monfries. They only traded to not effect the Chaplin compo, they've got 3 years service out of him and he is closed to being cooked as player. Cry me a river. Since they made the same mistake with Ryder, they'd have made the same decision on Monfries with the full information...
I don't think it matters so much as Essendon were a bottom 6 team anyway and the #1 picks haven't helped Carlton or Melbourne any. Would be worse if it was say Port Adelaide or someone like that who could skip a year and then have big bounce + get the best young player in the country.
If it does turn out to be true and it is the players rumoured then given the (relatively small) number of tests the AFL does they'd have to have lucked out pretty bad to have all been picked up at the same time, across 4 clubs, randomly.
AFL would black ban any media outlet that went too deep under the rug. No accreditation for whoever stepped out of line. SBS would be about the only media outlet that would have no (or little) affiliation with the AFL? Even the ABC can't go hard because they have radio rights.
In the shady world of the AFL it wouldn't surprise me.
After the Cronulla penalties it has always been likely that the dons would also get off easy.
Such a fabricated competition now.
Looking at the list lodgement rules. November 12 player request for removal from list form lodged with afl. November 14 afl delisted free agency period 2 begins. A couple of days for the players to split if it's wrapped up on the 10th.
I wonder if they tested Serena after her performance at wimbledon! Illicit drugs on match day are a no no in AFL so presumably they are in tennis too, there had to be at least a suspicion she was on something. Bet the testers went nowhere near her though.
For the tennis players USADA release...
One thing I can take from the Essendon saga is a sharper ability to spot the PR gunk.
At the start of the doco they had Armstrong giving testimony on the "handicam" and he had his cuffs on his business shirt undone so the world could see his yellow wristband. It was the first thing that jumped...
