No, McVeigh tried to discredit Reimers claims that they knew what they were taking and what they were taking was borderline. Dank thought that the drugs were not banned, but they were.

The Essendon has admitted that they did not know what the players were taking and didn't have the reporting systems to prevent any harmful chemical being taken by a player. They broke duty of care and that can be out for a player.
Essendon maybe found not guilty of taking anything illegal but...
1. Essendon have no records of what the players took and nor did it tried to make such reports.
2. Injections were done away from the club.
Seems to me that Essendon as club could be blamed for lack of goverance.
