No Joel Coyne?
I've seen him play with Weedon and against Jetta and he is just as good a prospect as those players IMHO. He is very quick, I saw him run down Jetta and I think he ran about a 2.90 at SS. Needs to work on his kicking though.
All the Eagles posters on this board want Bennell...
Quigley how do you justify Griffiths at 7? He shouldn't be anywhere near that. I don't think the guy has played more than 5 games in a row without getting injured. If his body can't stand up in junior footy, how will it stand up to the rigors of the AFL? I wouldn't go near him with a 10 foot...
1. MEL - Tom Scully
2. MEL - Jack Trengove
3. RICH - Dustin Martin
4. FRE - Anthony Morabito
5. NM - Ben Cunnington
6. SYD - Gary Rohan
7. WC - Brad Sheppard
8. PA - John Butcher
9. PA - Jake Melksham
10. ESS - Kane Lucas
11. MEL - Daniel Talia
12. CAR - Aaron Black
13. ADE - Jasper...
I think Gary Rohan and JMP will both go much earlier and Griffiths much later. Other than that seems pretty good. Mike Florio is an interesting choice but we don't have that pick.
Morabito sliding to 7 is not out of the question. Free Agency is coming soon and if they think someone is going to be a flight risk then they could well pass him up, especially when other elite talent is still available.
He is a defender and has played the vast majority of his career as a defender both in the AFL and as a junior. The coaches have already said publicly that he will be playing as a defender next year. He is injured and will have a limited preparation going into next season - there is no time in...
I like Notte as well, which is why we shouldn't be taking a tall at 7 unless it is a clear upgrade eg Butcher. You don't need to take tall defenders in the top 10 of the draft. There will still be good talls at pick 23 to choose from eg David Astbury.
Yep Brown will stay in defense because of the knee injury. So even when Glass retires we still have Mackenzie FB and Brown CHB with Jones and Schofield to fight it out for the third tall position. Talia is just gravy at that point when we are crying out for another gun midfielder, a forward...
Talia to the Eagles makes no sense unless you are convinced he can make the move forward. Mitch Brown is our CHB and he has done an excellent job. We also have Eric Mackenzie and have just re-signed Will Schofield. Wilkes and Jordan Jones also wait in the wings. We are absolutely stacked with...
He is a huge star in the WAFL hey? How many sandover votes did he get? The fact that he is mentored by Peter Matera and wants to play for us will have no bearing on whether we take him. You are right about his size and attitude though. He seems lazy and will always be skinny.
Lewis Jetta is a huge risk at pick 7. Taking Naitanui and Swift last draft were enough risks IMO. Let this one slide through and take a nice safe player like Kane Lucas. There will still be indigenous players we can draft at 22/23.
Do you think Gerrick Weedon is a genuine forward pocket? And do you think 22/23 would be too early for him? Would much rather take Melksham/Lucas at 7 and the forward pocket at 22/23.
That comment doesn't make any sense to me. At pick 14 they could easily get a very similar player to Lucas EG Bastinac so if pick 14 is "for safety" then wouldn't they go with the rare commodity at #6?
This is very similar to what I think could happen, except I would have Melksham before Tapscott and possibly even before Lucas. I also think Butcher could go a bit earlier.
I'm not a big fan of Gysberts and I think he is a poor fit for Subi oval. It would be awesome if Bastinac or Stevens slid...
Not paranoid, just understanding how WCE think and act. I guarantee that WCE will draft an indigenous player at either 7, 22 or 23 - most likely at 7. We shall see if I am right.
I think Troy Taylor's family have made it pretty clear they don't want him to play for WCEs and we'll respect that. I think there were even some quotes on the AFL website alluding to this. Personally, I would be quite happy with Allen Christensen or Nicholas Winmar at 23. It's probably a bit...
I believe the Eagles thing to be true. I have no proof of this but I have heard similar things. Think about it: West Coast currently have no indigenous players on their main list. If they don't draft any then our enemies will play the race card for sure. It will be all over the Melbourne media...
