I've slagged him off before, but, he was one of the few owners that actually had us turning a profit each season, not just reliant on some rich owner footing the bills.
And in this global pandemic a few clubs could go under if the owners decide to step aside so for now, I would rather keep him...
I'm all for Bruce, Geordie at heart and he has taken on a role.tbat no one else would even consider.
Sure he spent time at the Mackems but I tip my hat for him trying.
No Rafa but at least he can unite the club a bit
Not yet, but we can build
First thing I would do is pour money into the training facilities and club before players to make us stronger and build a culture for guys in a few years
I know he cops a lot of flack, and I've sure dished it out myself
But now it's on the market I do respect him for making us a financially viable club and knowing that we won't go under and I'll always have a club.
Have I gone soft?
If Rafa walks out because we didn't lead the charge of transfers in a generally underwhelming window where stupid money was being poured out on s**t players, when he has to be aware Ashley (like him or not) isn't football rich, nor was the squad we had worth anything substantial then he can...
I actually thought Ashley was honest this window, kept saying we want to make movements and he is open to it but people must remember he's not football rich and then Rafa seemed to be quiet all period
Maybe Rafa just wanted guys that were unobtainable?
