With Casey first up and Suns Rnd 3, we would want to beat the Cats in Rnd 2. All away games.

Review 2023 1st Prelim Final, Gold Coast Suns v Box Hill Hawks, 16 September 2023, 3:00pm @ Heritage Bank Stadium

The cupboard isn’t bare, it’s just a bit dull.

Meek likely to be playing VFL as well so yes, Rama plays AFL or goes back to being a forward. These three finals games as first ruck have been very good for him I reckon.

Review 2023 1st Prelim Final, Gold Coast Suns v Box Hill Hawks, 16 September 2023, 3:00pm @ Heritage Bank Stadium

Butler hasn’t come on at all. Contracted for two more years unfortunately.

Review 2023 1st Prelim Final, Gold Coast Suns v Box Hill Hawks, 16 September 2023, 3:00pm @ Heritage Bank Stadium

Regarding our borderline AFL players, the game confirmed what we already knew Bramble is quick but a poor decision maker GONE Kosi has deficiencies but offers massive heart KEEP Jeka, great skills, doesn’t go hard enough and poor decisions too often. GONE DGB is a horrible one decision maker...

Review 2023 1st Prelim Final, Gold Coast Suns v Box Hill Hawks, 16 September 2023, 3:00pm @ Heritage Bank Stadium

Does anyone know why VFL quarters are consistently two or three minutes longer than AFL quarters? Both quarters have been 33 minutes despite low goals. It’s the same every week.

Have noticed a few selfish plays from Ryan this finals series. Hopefully we can get that out of his game.

Review 2023 1st Semi Final, Box Hill Hawks v Footscray Bulldogs, 9 September 2023, 11.30am @ Box Hill City Oval

We are clearly trying to win this year over player development, hence Tucker is not playing. So, we do what wins us the game. Plus, Stephens is contracted for 2024 so it won’t make any difference to his career.

Review 2023 1st Semi Final, Box Hill Hawks v Footscray Bulldogs, 9 September 2023, 11.30am @ Box Hill City Oval

Brilliant day @ Box Hill. Huge crowd 2k - 3k. Lots of Dogs fans as well. Players were great with the kids after the win. Kosi in particular.

Review 2023 1st Semi Final, Box Hill Hawks v Footscray Bulldogs, 9 September 2023, 11.30am @ Box Hill City Oval

Decision making is the main difference between AFL and VFL finals. Poor choices by Stephens, Jeka, Ryan this quarter.

Review 2023 1st Semi Final, Box Hill Hawks v Footscray Bulldogs, 9 September 2023, 11.30am @ Box Hill City Oval

Meek being ineligible is giving Ramsden lots of ruck time which is good for his development.

Review 2023 2nd Qualifying Final, Werribee Tigers v Box Hill Hawks, 2 September 2023, 2.05pm @ Avalon Airport Oval

Box Hill would be 140m (boundary is 2 x 5m). Princes park is almost a circle so that width surprises me.

Review 2023 2nd Qualifying Final, Werribee Tigers v Box Hill Hawks, 2 September 2023, 2.05pm @ Avalon Airport Oval

VFL GF is at Princes Park going forward. And Port is out of action at the moment due to its poor condition, which is why no finals there yesterday, and why we are likely to be at City Oval this week.

Review 2023 2nd Qualifying Final, Werribee Tigers v Box Hill Hawks, 2 September 2023, 2.05pm @ Avalon Airport Oval

Shame CMac2, Meek and Smitch are ineligible. Still, a very strong side. Should be competitive. If we lose we are likely to be at BH City Oval next week. If we win, not sure where we would host the prelim.

Tucker has not played AFL, so one game for us is enough to qualify. I am told Ryan also qualifies.
