A player for my club's Reserve Grade last year kicked all 7 of the team's goals. See below. It was 7 goals straight and the player concerned is not a key marking forward, making it even more remarkable.
I did put a post up about it at the time and no-one could find a player who had done equal...
A player in my club's Reserve Grade team here in Sydney yesterday kicked all 7 of his side's goals. And he's not a key position player either.
What's the highest number of goals people here know of (AFL or otherwise) when a player kicks all his side's goals? I keep the records for my club and...
Ah, small world.
I remember the night that Brocky came down to training for the first time with a services mate.
I've been at the Rams a long time.....
I know Brocky. Started around the mid 90s. :)
Yes, Hawkesbury were the Saints (played in Saints guernseys too). They changed their name to Nor-West Jets in the late 90s.
S-W Sydney play out of Rosedale Oval. Great venue (it's a grade cricket oval).
Who did you play footy for up here?
One of my club's games from 1996.
Penrith 1.4 2.8 5.12 15.15 (105)
Hawkesbury 2.3 7.5 8.9 8.10 (58)
And they did virtually the same thing three years later.
Penrith 0.5 3.8 6.9 15.12 (102)
S-W Sydney 1.5 4.6 7.9 7.10 (52)
I've got a complete set of that publication.
It didn't give full scorecards of county matches though, I am sure. Not enough room. I will have to check now....:)
From memory, when Playfair Cricket Monthly ceased publication around 1973 (I think it merged with The Cricketer), Cricketer Quarterly...
That's 400 goals in two seasons for Hudson. What a freak.
The "other" games would have been finals, intra-state and state games, state finals, etc.
Tassie football in the 70s was of a pretty good standard, so quite a feat by Huddo.
Thanks for the responses guys. I'll let you know if we find out. :)
Here are the q by q scores for the game by the way:
Footscray 1.5 6.8 9.14 15.20 (110)
Essendon 5.3 11.5 12.13 13.15 (93)
I have had a stats question sent to me by someone I know. He can't find the answer to this anywhere in his publications (including the AFL Record) or online. I do have Inside Football for the year in question and will look there for him (although I don't hold out much hope there either), but in...
Interesting read, prompted by Aaron Purcell's efforts for Jerilderie this season.

I can't say I've ever heard of a team going scoreless in a Grand Final before.
The recent NTFA Div 2 Senior Grade Grand Final in Northern Tasmania:
Old Scotch 9.14 (68) d Fingal Valley 0.0 (0)
Detailed scoreboard
This was the year after the Dons had lost the 1947 Grand Final to Carlton by a point, also due to poor kicking - 13.8 (86) to 11.19 (85).
An interesting Grand Final score where poor kicking featured but didn't cost the side the game was the First Grade GF here in Sydney in 2006:

Swans v St Kilda, SCG, must have been 1994.
The Swans were up by 48 early in the final term. Lockett went beserk, ended up with 11 and the Saints won.
I am pretty sure it was the same day he ironed out Peter Caven.
I was there, it was an amazing day all around (even though I was barracking...
