The rules says nothing about making contact.
And then there is the godfather clause:
22.2.2 (cc) engaging in any other act of misconduct or serious misconduct.
But you can be charged under 18.8.2 (b).
Some if you throw a punch at the umpire and the umpire ducks, you have not done anything wrong?
If you rely on the umpire to evade contact, then you are skating on very thin ice.
