Wanted the Doggies to win the 2016 GF, so no sour grapes in this assessment, but the umpiring that handed them a distinct advantage, especially in the second half was the worst umpired game that I have seen.
Sydney were stiff in most of all the 50/50 decisions.
Oh and the Haneberry " non free...
Umpiring is no better.
But in fairness to them the job is becoming more and more difficult as the F***wits at AFL house keep making more rules to complicate the decision making for the umpires.
Not only are they having more decision to make with new rules , they now hove to be F******* mind...
Would think 4 weeks is the starting point.
Disappointed in Cameron as didn't need to do that , certainly not in the spirit of the game.
For such a talented player Cameron sure has quite a arsenal of cheap shots in his repertoire.
He does has form so he is obviously a slow learner.
For me its pretty F****** simple you cant touch the umpire, no ifs no buts.
Easy concept to grasp as a player... " JUST DONT DO IT ".
If you do its a week...thats the base line.
After that the discussion on intent, accidental , aggressive, whatever...... becomes stage two of the assessment of...
IMO Cotchin is gone.
It wasn't a snipe or dirty act as others have alluded to, more so just the wrong decision in the spilt moment that caused the head high contact.
The AFL have been pretty consistent over the last few year , you make the choice to bump and its head contact, then your gone.
I know what your saying but its not going to be a good week to go to the AFL Tribunal after they pretty much got a bollocking from the AFL itself at the puzzling lenient decision handed out to Cooney, one would suspect that the blow torch would have been applied to the AFL Tribunal's arse and...
Dog act.
Totally uncalled for .
Intentional, head high, with force, off the ball.
Silvagni that was gutless.
I doubt the most ardent Docker supporter would approve of that cheap shot.
Good decision common sense prevails.
Was a good bump and its a shame that it was sent to the tribunal as it should have never been sighted.
You sometimes just shake your head and wonder just where the MRP is taking the game.
If that had warranted a suspension then the game would be poorer...
s**t..... the Swans live a charmed life.
I actually don't think the incident was that bad but to see other players go for less this season is perplexing.
The cynic in me smells........................AFL intervention.
Much ado about nothing.
Game played hard and fair by both teams as it should be.
I would be extremely pissed if Pods got in strife for that.
Two guys going hard at it...neither flinch....courage.... its a facet of our game that makes it such a GREAT game.
Well I am obviously missing something here.
Trengrove : 3 weeks
Dunn : 2 weeks
OK so how the faark does that work out.
I am not bagging the Melbourne Football Club here at all its just that from an outside perspective the Dunn incident looks twice as bad as the Trengove one...
Agree with most of the above.
Mathew James was a rarity amoungst the umpiring fraternity ... an umpire who actually had a feel for the game.
Always thought his decision making was outstanding.
He didn't get sucked in paying staged soft free kicks.
Seemed to have the respect of the...
Re: Just make headgear mandatory
Mate.... please give it a break.
What's next.... we have our players looking like gridiron players. ?
Accept the decision, you don't have to agree with it or like it, I certainly don't, I think its BS. But thats the way its gone.
But I could not...
