Maynard cleared by tribunal for Brayshaw collision

Surprised by the decision I thought the moment head office got involved he’d never be entitled to a fair trial I do wonder if AFL will appeal They’ll certainly change the rules We are 24 months away from the speccy being removed from the game and 48 months away from not being able to jump...

Certified Legendary Thread Patrick Cripps and Ah Chee

Well "eyes on the ball attempting to collect it" is a little different to simply "eyes on the ball" I could argue "eyes" means nothing in this situation. How much of the post did you want to cut out to suit an argument?

You seem uncertain - is the question mark there for a reason?

Certified Legendary Thread Patrick Cripps and Ah Chee

For people wanting Cripps rubbed out - do you think he was a) eyes on the ball attempting to collect it or b) eyes on the player electing to bump For me - the vision I have seen - a) looks the most likely scenario. The fact Ah Chee is injured should only come into it once it has been...

Certified Legendary Thread Patrick Cripps and Ah Chee

I've only seen two angles - both of which are a little obscured. However the reverse angle looks like he had his hands in a cupping position to collect the ball on his chest - which he is entitled to do.

Head High Contact - Worth it for a Free Kick?

Why is Ginnivan the pariah here? Selwood (and others) must be chortling

MRP / Trib. Tom Stewart - Result 4 week match suspension

The grading reflects the fact people are in shock as to the perpetrator Does anyone think this is "in character" for Tom Stewart? Not at all, but the reality is - the act was a poor one, it was deliberate and should be punished as so. I genuinely can't remember a bump that late in ages.

MRP / Trib. Tom Stewart - Result 4 week match suspension

No idea how that gets graded careless Hitting a bloke that late is deliberate

MRP / Trib. Nat Fyfe - How many weeks?

Cottrell lucky to escape a fine i reckon

MRP / Trib. Nat Fyfe - How many weeks?

Player who pushed him will be culpable and should get a fine That’s what happens when it happens at a stoppage - it’s the pusher, not the pushee who is penalised Rightly so

MRP / Trib. Tom Stewart - Result 4 week match suspension

Wow - that's an old timer you don't see much of anymore. only thing he didn't do to make it look like the 80s was raise his elbow 4 weeks i reckon for how egregiously late it was.

Toby Greene makes contact with umpire - Update: Suspension Increased to 6 weeks on Appeal

I love Greene - reckon he gets an unfair go with the tribunal - but that’s at least a month off football can’t tell me he didn’t deliberately shoulder him

David Mundy Elbow (A Toby Greene whinge)

Your own comment proves the point “Greene has a history of dirty acts”. That is completely irrelevant to his guilt in any incident it should be relevant to any suspension handed down though once guilt has been decided

David Mundy Elbow (A Toby Greene whinge)

I can believe you missed the point of the post though
  18. The Falcon Strike

David Mundy Elbow (A Toby Greene whinge)

In yesterday's derby, David Mundy, whilst in possession of the ball lifted his elbow to deal with a tackler - in a genuine attempt to dispose of the ball. The result was the tackler losing teeth. By any view - what Mundy did was perfectly fair and the result on the tackler was nothing more...

Don't like their chances - but hopefully he is successful

    Toby Greene… again.

Toby Greene suspended for being Toby Greene Blokes fend off and raise their arms when being tackled all day long. Danger knocked a bloke out in a grand final. Neither should be suspensions

    Buddy Elbow -how many week?

Hard to argue, 1-2 weeks less the Swans discount Seems very consistent to me

Buddy report — forceful front on contact.

If the lad wasn’t injured - it’ll be a fine A bit sloppy - but nothing dramatic But it relies on lack of injury

    How many weeks for Mackay?

I was surprised and happy when I found out Mackay was rightfully cleared This is tempered though by the fact that the AFL will simply amend the rules to ensure the next accident actually gets suspended can’t wait for Liam Ryan to be suspended for his hip hitting someone in the head whilst...

    How many weeks for Mackay?

Brad Sheppard's actions against Carlton were a mile worse than Mackay's The only difference? Sheppard only hurt himself. But let's be honest - this decision is going to be absolutely railroaded. In 10 years - there will be strict liability for players going for high marks as well.
  25. The Falcon Strike

    How many weeks for Mackay?

Liam Ryan should have been suspended for his MOTY over Gawn a few years back :)
  26. The Falcon Strike

    How many weeks for Mackay?

definitely - it’s unreasonable to go for the ball

ANyone who changes direction and causes their opponent to do a knee should get an instant 12 week suspension
  28. The Falcon Strike

    How many weeks for Mackay?

Daniel venables got a concussion that probably will end his career from high contact by a melbourne player Should that player now be suspended? Using outcome as the sole arbiter of guilt is the worst kind of logic. By that logic you could punch someone in the face and as long as they are ok...

    How many weeks for Mackay?

Plenty of occasions one would think Not all high contact is a free kick.
  30. The Falcon Strike

    How many weeks for Mackay?

Mackay had his hands on the ball didn't he? He made the ball his object He didn't choose to bump - he chose to go for the ball and a collision ensued. Clark was injured, that's unfortunate. Surely the tribunal sees through this.
