If he was going for a speccy and adjusted his body while staring at a defenceless opponent and while coming down to land and knocked him out, yeah that should cop the same punishment
If they changed their body positioning on the way down looking directly at an opponent and smashed them in the head I'd think they would be suspended too
If he doesn't protect his body he doesn't put Brayshaw out of the game. It is within his duty of care to not bump Brayshaw in the head. Regardless of his intent that is what he has done and needs to go for at least 2 games like Brayshaw did and will (miss next week), but he should really get...
Theres nothing wrong with this suspension imo but the system is broken with intent. Thug acts like De Goey and Nank should get 5-6 weeks and acts like this 3 weeks
Long did duck into the tackle but yeah throwing him to the ground should have resulted in a couple of weeks. If Long got concussion from that he'd be facing 3 weeks too
Yeah if Smith got concussed from that I reckon Pickett would have been looking at 5-6 game suspension. It's completely wrong to base the suspension length on the injury, rather than the action.
How does De Gooey get the same suspension as Sicily? Seems like the action doesn't matter at all and...
Not sure what he could have done. I think everyone has to accept the fact that no matter what a player does on field these days, if they get unlucky with a head injury to an opponent, they could be suspended. It's purely down to luck, or lack of it.
He hit a guy in the head after he got rid of the ball and he was substituted out due to concussion, and maybe a fracture as well? There aren't really any worse things a player can do on the field other than maybe king hitting someone
They pretty much never assess as intentional, so it'll be reckless, high and severe -> straight to tribunal. They'll give him 4 weeks I reckon and if Hewett has an injury such as broken cheekbone he should get 4+whatever the injury length is
