That's awful news for Varcoe and the Cats.. don't like hearing that about any player, especially a young and promising one. Serious question blaze, not a troll - is your sig meant to indicate that Swan is on the gear and getting away with it?

    Opinion Best 50 of 2012

I have already agreed that Shaw was a better player - last year. Yarran was 20 years old in 2011. Compare his 2011 with Shaw's 2006. You will find that Yarran had more I50's, more R50's, more tackles. Shaw had more marks and more uncontested possessions. So it is reasoanble to argue that Yarran...

    Opinion Best 50 of 2012

As a matter of fact, yes, he did. But I don't think it's a valid question anyway, as we are talking about 2012, not 2011. I base my opinion on what I see. It may be an 'easy' position to play if all you want is cheap possessions. Yarran has the ability to attack off half back like few others...

So we are broadly in agreement... Given that the thread title is about 2012, I stick by Yarran in the top 50 (or 30). Agreed. In 2012 I expect him to move past two or three of those and, as I said, be vying for the Leon Davis spot. Let's agree to disagree. Time will tell.

You jest. Yarran will be vying for the AA spot left vacant by Leon Davis.

I don't think Waite will make top 50. I do think Yarran will make top 30 (in fact I think Yarran will outperform Varcoe).
