Recommitted Shai Bolton [Re-signed to 2023]

Can update the thread title on this one to 2028 now
  2. Infamy

Club Focus Richmond 2021 - Tarrant, Gibcus, Brown, Sonsie, Banks, Clarke

No point using a Top 30 pick on one if they are no good, so you can't pick what isn't there. Seems like next year is the draft for a bunch of good talls. Sounds like Gibcus may be used forward (along with Balta) moving forward similar to a Naughton

Club Focus Richmond 2021 - Tarrant, Gibcus, Brown, Sonsie, Banks, Clarke

Tigers don't have the list spots unless we're to trade a pick away into next year Seems like we're trying to trade up into the 1st round, instead of further back into the 2nd anyway
  4. Infamy

Traded Callum Coleman-Jones [Traded to North Melbourne with 42, 47 and a future 4th for Tarrant, 40 and a future 2nd]

I don't think it was announced, but there were talks/reports he'd been extended by another year due to the ACL
  5. Infamy

Recommitted Quinton Narkle [one year contract extension]

It doesn't work that way, the player nominates the club he wants to go to
  6. Infamy

Recommitted Quinton Narkle [one year contract extension]

Given we have multiple 3rd round picks this year, I suspect one of them will be for Narkle. We have a weakness in clearances, so I imagine it's to try and help improve that area for us
  7. Infamy

Recommitted Tom Mitchell [contracted and staying at Hawthorn]

That's the whole point though, we have enough players in that age bracket already and are needing to plan for their replacements, not add to the list of players we have to replace in 2-3 years.
  8. Infamy

Traded Adam Cerra traded to Carlton for pick #6 and F3

Bolton still isn't going to be included in any trade which was my main point If it's the case that he wants to come back to Melbourne for family reasons then going to North or Hawthorn probably isn't the end of the world either
  9. Infamy

Recommitted Quinton Narkle [one year contract extension]

100% agree, best mates with Bolton, should be our main target at the end of the year, not anyone like Titch
  10. Infamy

Traded Adam Cerra traded to Carlton for pick #6 and F3

Even if Bolton is holding off until the end of the year, he still will be signing a new contract before the trade period, so he won't get getting included in any trade. Then if Cerra remains uncontracted and wants to leave then you don't have much strength at the negotiating table
  11. Infamy

Recommitted Shai Bolton [Re-signed to 2023]

That's only for players who are acquired via free agency, if he was to retire then it wouldn't count given we drafted him. I still think he'll play on next year anyway
  12. Infamy

Free Agency Mabior Chol [joins Gold Coast as an unrestricted free agent]

What the hell are you talking about? Compare how many AA selections Richmond gets compared to other successful eras like Hawthorn, Geelong & Brisbane Look at the AA teams in progress this year and people have half the Melbourne team in the side, back in Geelong's era they had around 8-10 players...
  13. Infamy

Recommitted Daniel Rioli [re-signed for 2022]

That's the thing, it DOES suit Rioli as he came to the club with both elite speed and endurance. Part of the whole design of our gameplan was to utilise this running capacity of Rioli and others to close off the ground to the opposition with massive running efforts. Kamdyn McIntosh is exactly...

Recommitted Shai Bolton [Re-signed to 2023]

Think you'll find that most players in the losing team don't get in the votes. Maybe one or two at most. Pretty hard to pick them up in a losing team, that's a terrible metric and it would be the same for every gun in the league
  15. Infamy

Traded Adam Cerra traded to Carlton for pick #6 and F3

It wasn't Pick 6 in isolation though It was Pick 6 (2016) & Pick 37 (2017) for Dion Prestia & Pick 24 (2016) Using the draft point calculator, that leaves the points difference around the value of a Pick 10
  16. Infamy

Free Agency Mabior Chol [joins Gold Coast as an unrestricted free agent]

Pretty sure dime a dozen means the opposite of what you are intending here
  17. Infamy

    Delisted Connor Menadue [DFA]

He will get picked up as a DFA if we try to bump him down to the rookie list, I'm hoping we give him another year There is no reason to upgrade DES to the senior list yet, he's still a Cat B rookie outside the list, so make the most of the extra list spot. He's not exactly demanding a senior...
  18. Infamy

Free Agency Harley Bennell [joins Melbourne as a delisted free agent]

Interesting timing, have to think there's still off field issues
  19. Infamy

Club Focus Richmond 2020 - Ryan, Rioli

Agreed that we want to re-sign him I just didn't consider him to be at the top of the priority list Pretty much assume he's staying to finish out his career on 1 year contracts
  20. Infamy

Club Focus Richmond 2020 - Ryan, Rioli

The only priority is re-signing our developing youth for another 2-3 years each Stack, Bolton, Chol & Baker are the priorities (along with Shane Edwards) Sure we could do with a big bodied midfielder for a couple of years while RCD develops, but we've shown this year that we have good depth in...
  21. Infamy

Free Agency Tom Lynch [moves to Richmond as a Restricted Free Agent]

Hampson ($400k-ish) & Griffiths ($300k-ish) have already retired, that is most of the salary for Lynch right there before you take into account the rising salary cap and our front loaded contracts
  22. Infamy

    Rookie Draft - Who Won?

May want to get him to 100 games then, imagine all the potential father/son selections
  23. Infamy

Traded Chris Yarran [to Richmond for Pick 19]

Clearly you haven't watched them since they left Carlton Mitch Robinson finished 3rd in the Brisbane B&F this year Jeff Garlett kicked 40 goals this year Shaun Grigg has finished in the Top 10 of the Richmond B&F at least 3 times, including a Top 5 They have all improved since leaving Carlton...
  24. Infamy

Traded Chris Yarran [to Richmond for Pick 19]

Quite scary for Carlton when you think about it Josh Kennedy Sam Jacobs Eddie Betts Shaun Grigg Mitch Robinson Jeff Garlett That's 1/3 of a pretty good starting 18 right there Will find out soon on Menzel, Yarran, Bell & Henderson, but I'm sure most will come back to bite them.
  25. Infamy

    Recommitted Steven Motlop [re-signed]

To get both it sounds like they'll be paying something like $1.4m for the two players. Add in Pendlebury, Cloke & Swan and that's a massive % of the TPP for 5 players (although Swan will retire in 12-24 months)

Draft Review 2006 - Redo the 2006 Draft

Re: re do the 2006 draft now that we have seen them Almost easier to pick who did worst. Hawks or Freo? You'd have to say Hawks based on the quality of picks they had. Freo had little to work with. Both sides not left with much

Draft Review 2006 - Redo the 2006 Draft

Re: re do the 2006 draft now that we have seen them I'm sure I'll just get accused of bias, however wouldn't you take a 21 year old Coleman medal leading key forward over a half back flanker like Gibbs? Selwood plays as a genuine midfielder and has won flags with Geelong, so I can understand...
