Recommitted Joe Daniher 2019 [requested a trade to Sydney - didn't get there]

To be guaranteed another 1st round pick, get another year out of Joe and have the chance to change his mind is worth the risk against what Sydney offered.

Tom Harley should go have a coffee to calm down.

How are Sydney trading pick 9? Pretty sure it's Carlton's pick.

Traded Dylan Shiel [traded with future 2nd to Essendon for #9 and future 1st round pick]

For a guy who's hard to deal with, he sure gets a lot of ******* deals done!

Traded Dylan Shiel [traded with future 2nd to Essendon for #9 and future 1st round pick]

I dunno, despite the recent scandal and underwhelming seasons of late, I can see why a player might see Essendon as a pretty enticing prospect at this point in time. Not sure what is so outrageous about that TBH.

Traded Dayne Beams [traded with #41 and #43 to Collingwood for #18, #56 and future 1st round pick]

It's Collingwood who would have to be paying overs in this situation, rather than Brisbane accepting whatever Collingwood have. Just my opinion, but I think the 'personal reasons' element of the initial trade (completely understandable of course) was balanced out by Brisbane paying through the...

I can see what you mean. Pretty sweet deal for Shiel though!

Recommitted Tim Kelly [exploring trade options home to West Coast]

Did that just happen recently? As you are right, it puts a completely different spin on the situation.

    Recommitted Luke Parker

He probably doesn't want to leave, but I'd be annoyed if Essendon didn't ask him the question...just in case. Bloke's a gun.

Essendon Trading 2017 - Player Nominations and Impact

When it suited him. Robbo is a Robbo fan first and foremost, then if he can align that with his Essendon loyalties, why not?

Essendon Trading 2017 - Player Nominations and Impact

If Robbo questions it, then we must be on the right track. Don't forget this is the bloke that basically accused Tippa of giving up his life up north to come down here and chase his dream of tanking games. The man is a joke.

Essendon Trading 2017 - Player Nominations and Impact

So a team that hasn't won a final in 13 years, loses some players to big contracts elsewhere during the ASADA years, has just lost a few players on decent coin to retirement, yet can't be getting anywhere near affording a few new good players suddenly? Ok.

Draft Review 2013 - Redo the 2013 AFL draft

The depth of this draft's quality is increasing by the week, it would seem. Billings and Sheed now starting to get their s**t together.

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

Now that it's finally done, I think it's fair to say that the Saints have got a nice young spine to develop around in the next few years, with Jake the old man at 24 haha.

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

From Hawthorn's perspective though, they've got a decent deal for Anderson and now have 2 x 1st round picks. Even the worst case scenario for them is a pretty good one.

That could disrupt the space time continuum and DESTROY the entire universe!! (Hey it is the day for it ;))

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

Trust me, this back-slapping between Essendon and Hawthorn supporters is making me uneasy too, just so unnatural!

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

I can't believe people are actually having a go at Carlisle for making sure Essendon are fairly compensated. It's exactly the same as what Judd did.

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

You're getting a proven and required player and we will get a punt at best. Of course it will favour you! That's the whole point of it being a decent pick as compensation.

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

You'd hope not. You went through the season 0-14 with a sub-30 percentage.

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

I could imagine Richo hearing that his list manager had tried to * Essendon over, let Carlisle walk to the PSD and hey presto! Carlton find some cap space and nab him. St Kilda being neutral to not getting Carlisle and all, the coach simply shrugs his shoulders, says 'oh well' and goes on...

Leigh Matthews would. Knows a thing or 4 about coaching flags.

A take-or-leave attitude like that is what you do for punts or project players. The contract in front of Jake from your club suggests he is very much wanted. So which is it?
  25. Stopher

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

And if Jake said 'pretty good' isn't good enough? What would he think of your club compromising his future on the hope to get him on the cheap?

You mean like the player in question? FMD!

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

Especially since St Kilda can give no iron-clad guarantee that another club won't pick him up. And there are a few before them.

Recommitted Cam McCarthy requests trade home to WA

Freo have definitely got the 'home' factor over Essendon, whereas the Dons have the currency to interest GWS. I've no idea about how much cap space each club has, and of course you have to know what the player himself wants which is Freo from what his last comments on the issue were. Still, it...

It makes sense simply from his comments about Cale heading down to the backline again. Which I'm pleased about.

Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

I'm not saying he wouldn't go to Carlton. I think he would if the $$ was right, and I think it'd have to be a very good offer, seeing that he is most likely going to have to wait a few more years to be playing finals again when compared with the Saints and Dogs. And if he/his agent may think...
