    Play Nice Hypothetical Pick 1 Trade Poll: Pick 1 for Picks 2 & 15 --- Pick 1 & F1 (WCE) for Picks 2 & 3 --- Something else?

A manager generally isn't going to guide a player to a club that can't make the trade. Part of the selection process is ensuring the receiving club has the capital Judd chose Carlton because they had the capital and brown paper bags We wanted 1 3 and 20 which is what he was worth. We ended...

    Play Nice Hypothetical Pick 1 Trade Poll: Pick 1 for Picks 2 & 15 --- Pick 1 & F1 (WCE) for Picks 2 & 3 --- Something else?

Depends on how good Reid is. Are you suggesting North woudn't fall over themselves right now to give pick 2 for Nick Daicos?

    Play Nice Hypothetical Pick 1 Trade Poll: Pick 1 for Picks 2 & 15 --- Pick 1 & F1 (WCE) for Picks 2 & 3 --- Something else?

How is P1 and F1 = to 2 and 3. I don't understand how that is "playing nice" as per the heading. That's quite likely two Pick 1s for Pick 2 and 3. That's actually a downgrade.... This trade doesn't need to be fair. We aren't the ones shopping the pick - it's either in our favour or we...
  4. The Falcon Strike

Traded Liam Henry [Traded with F4 to St Kilda for F2 and F4]

Freo getting unders here and overs with the schultz deal Saints done well
  5. The Falcon Strike

Traded Lachie Schultz [Traded to Collingwood for #34 and F1]

Elliot is more a mid forward - than a small forward. Is stronger over head A small forward just won the norm smith and they have another potential in Ginnivan I just don’t see it being worth a 1st rounder or an area of priority
  6. The Falcon Strike

Traded Lachie Schultz [Traded to Collingwood for #34 and F1]

Wow - that’s great business by Freo Not actually sure what collingwood are doing though - they aren’t exactly lacking in that area
  7. The Falcon Strike

Traded Tyler Brockman [Traded to West Coast for #44 and #63]

^^. FYI this wasn’t about Brockman - some late picks isn’t worth the hassle But why not target the best uncontracted player available - give them the same offer you’d give a RFA Take for example English - if we were last next year - and he wanted to come. Why even entertain a trade Just take...

Pick 1 2023 Trade value - What would it take?

Fwiw - I don’t see the benefit of splitting picks - particularly when there is such a supposed stand out number 1 We got Ginbey and Hewett for Sheezel last year - effectively Not sure id do that trade now
  9. The Falcon Strike

Pick 1 2023 Trade value - What would it take?

They’ve already made offers so clearly they are interested WC haven’t been shopping the pick
  10. The Falcon Strike

Pick 1 2023 Trade value - What would it take?

You are missing the point - the deal needs to be lopsided - otherwise why would WC trade ? A fair even trade holds no benefit for WC It’s not like it’s to generate points for f/S picks or for players of need or some other reason that can generate win/wins
  11. The Falcon Strike

Pick 1 2023 Trade value - What would it take?

Id imagine if they got another top 10 pick - they’d be offering that and pick 2, along with sweeteners Can’t see them giving up both pick 2 and pick 3 If all they get out of this draft is pick 1 and 3 - they’ve done well I do think north are ahead of WC in terms of stocking you talent - so...
  12. The Falcon Strike

Traded Tyler Brockman [Traded to West Coast for #44 and #63]

I agree with this - for no logical reason other than the feels All hoping it’s the reserve ruckman who goes to a club who have lost their ruckman and are competing for finals and need a tall body Wondering whether the AFL could implement a rule that only players who have played 5 games or...
  13. The Falcon Strike

Traded Tyler Brockman [Traded to West Coast for #44 and #63]

Agree the clubs don’t see it that way - I just don’t understand why It’s a legacy draft that’s probably not needed given free agency, delisted free agents etc However a club would be negligent to not use the rules as they stand It’s not a loophole - it’s actually how it’s structured...
  14. The Falcon Strike

Traded Tyler Brockman [Traded to West Coast for #44 and #63]

No idea what the lad is worth - never seen him play What I do find odd though is the complete lack of clubs taking a player in the PSD Aside from Pick 1 - it’s the massive bonus for finishing last - being able to target any uncontracted player
  15. The Falcon Strike

Pick 1 2023 Trade value - What would it take?

That’s not the deadline for draft picks though Blockbuster TV would be for it to happen live on Draft night
  16. The Falcon Strike

Pick 1 2023 Trade value - What would it take?

Bloke has already imagined himself in the blue and gold and in arguably our most famous number (that or 3) Just keep it and pick him - like the lad already
  17. The Falcon Strike

Pick 1 2023 Trade value - What would it take?

I don’t see how it gets done without massive overs to be honest This isn’t a case of win win - it’s splitting draft picks to actually use So ultimately one will win and one will lose So if it’s a fair trade - why would we bother
  18. The Falcon Strike

Traded Brodie Grundy [traded to Sydney for #46 and F2]

Someone who was one of the best rucks - not is He may get back there
  19. The Falcon Strike

Traded Taylor Adams [traded to Sydney for pick #33]

Sydney acquiring some nice seasoned talent - complementing their young talent
  20. The Falcon Strike

Traded Brodie Grundy [traded to Sydney for #46 and F2]

Reckon Melbourne have done well here
  21. The Falcon Strike

Free Agency Ben McKay [Joins Essendon as RFA]

Wouldn't be that hard a calculation to do either. It would need to reference a % of total salary cap as a benchmark (so that the contracts are adjusted to increasing salaries.) Total contract = $3m - then that is x% of the total salary cap - you get 1400 points. If someone is only signing a...
  22. The Falcon Strike

Pick 1 2023 Trade value - What would it take?

So North could have 2,3,15, 21 2&3 would be overs and can't see them doing it 2 and 15 wouldn't be enough. 2 and 7 perhaps
  23. The Falcon Strike

Free Agency Ben McKay [Joins Essendon as RFA]

The FA compensation is outrageous. North are at the bottom of the ladder - and will lose supposedly a gun player - and have no incentive to try and target the FA market to bring in talent now. Personal view is a team's compensation should simply be free salary cap room that they can then...
  24. The Falcon Strike

Traded Tyler Brockman [Traded to West Coast for #44 and #63]

Frustrating as it is - west coast don’t bend clubs over a barrel - even when we have the upper hand We seem to value trading fairly for win wins as a long term list management strategy over quick wins We ain’t not dodo that’s for sure Sure in this case we might get slight unders - but it...
  25. The Falcon Strike

Traded Tyler Brockman [Traded to West Coast for #44 and #63]

DIdn't Champion data not have Bobby Hill in the best 10 on ground during the GF as well?
  26. The Falcon Strike

Free Agency Matt Flynn [Joins West Coast as UFA]

There it is - the final piece in our premiership puzzle
  27. The Falcon Strike

Pick 1 2023 Trade value - What would it take?

Agree completely on this part It isn't - is pick 1 worth pick 2 and Pick 3? It's "is Reid worth Curtin and whomever?" I don't have a view as I never seen any of them kick a football.
  28. The Falcon Strike

Recommitted Jake Waterman [signed 2 year deal]

After finding myself easily confused by heath streaks death and Kamahl’s voting intentions… Can someone let me know what Jake is doing
  29. The Falcon Strike

Traded Tyler Brockman [Traded to West Coast for #44 and #63]
