Wet weather footy may be appreciated for the toughness etc but dry footy is a much better spectacle imo. A roof maximises the chances of a better spectacle and maximises the attendees. Clubs are kept happy because the bigger the crowd the better their bottom line.

Baird announces ANZ to be turned into a rectangular roofed stadium. The last game of AFL has been played there.
