We have a housing crisis and terrible traffic flow because the city is sprawling out yet they reject high density developments in the CBD because they look bad and ruin the vibe. You reckon they are going to like a new big ugly stadium with massive light towers on the shoreline of the Derwent.
Hobart would be the furthest left city in the country. It would never be approved. Look at the current fuss over high density developments. Greens would shoot it down.
Depending upon where you are coming from it may be easier to catch the train. Usually there is heaps of parking on the street but they close the roads for the guineas and cup. Everyone will park in the middle of the track. Pro tip from an ex local if you must drive and don't mind walking a bit...
