    Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium)

Where could it have possibly been built in the CBD without massive issues? Even the Subi redevelopment deal would have been horrific for traffic/public around that part of the city. Optus is current what? a 10 minute free train ride back into the CBD after an event. If people want to go back...

    Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium)

It's looks terrible because of the amount of traffic on it and the rain we've been having. Since last month the ground has hosted: Fremantle v Brisbane Fremantle v Hawthorne West Coast v Geelong West Coast v Essendon State of Origin Wallabies v England Fremantle v Port West Coast v Carlton...

Patersons Stadium (Subiaco Oval) - Discussion

Why? It's absolute prime land in the middle of Perth. Knock down the stadium and put up housing. Completely wasted giving it any kind of football related space now.

    Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium)

Costs $70 a year https://membership.westcoasteagles.com.au/wings You can't be offered any memberships without going through the wings waiting list. I was one of the 6k that accepted 4 x 5 game memberships ($680) Depends on how bad, the Eagles have never really had a sustained period of being...

    Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium)

Yep. There were roughly 15k "in the wings" members, that is, people paying on a waiting list to be members when it/if seats became available for the new stadium. Moving to the new stadium they sold out the 60k seated "11 game memberships". 6K people were offered 5 & 3 game memberships and...

    Eagles are averaging 54k Lowest 50k v Port highest 57k v Richmond Dockers 45k Lowest 33k v Crows Highest v Eagles 56k

    Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium)

Cool story, now back in the real world.... 30k-40k is where the Eagles will sit when we get a bit lower on the ladder and that's pretty healthy. Dockers @ 33k is good enough considering the football they are playing and the weather.

    Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium)

30k-40k is around what you'd expect both WA teams to pull when they are in struggle town. When the Eagles are down again we''ll get similar results with crowd numbers.

    Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium)

Your buying a seat for a one off game that isn't being used? The point is to get people to use those seats that will otherwise go empty so you should make them available at a cheaper price to encourage more people to go....

Patersons Stadium (Subiaco Oval) - Discussion

I'm not a tourist? Tourists are not coming to Perth because we are located in the middle of nowhere not because there is nothing to do. How about you build something of interest for the 1.6million people that live in Perth. Western Australia has hundreds of kilometres of beaches for people to...

Patersons Stadium (Subiaco Oval) - Discussion

Terrible idea. The last thing Perth needs is another water related event. People that have no interest in surfing get no use out of this.

Australia vs England - a different stadium mindset

Arsenal also struggled to get building permission for 60k. The London transit system has to absorb most of the fans travelling to and from Premier league games. Add on top of that at any given time you can have West Ham, Tottenham, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Queens Park Rangers, Charlton...

    WACA Wallys

Never going to happen. Cricket doesn't have a good enough hand to negotiate that kind of deal.

    WACA Wallys

Surely they could just sell the WACA and build a smaller boutique cricket ground 20-25k with top facilities. That piece of the CBD would be worth a fortune.

    Is Adelaide Oval too small?

Two games a season and the ANZAC day game has cracked 90k only 6 times in 20 games, hardly a compelling reason.

    Is Adelaide Oval too small?

50 to 85k Should be the most for any Stadium in Australia. You have to account for the times when teams are crap and cant draw crowds as well. No point in having 85k and seeing 30k show up. Look at how awful the MCG looks when it doesn't get anywhere near 50k. Anything over 85k is wasted.

    Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium)

I don't understand how Arsenal FC can build a 60,000 seater stadium in one of the most congested cities in the world (London) on the site of an old rubbish tip (including demolishing the older stadium at the same time) within two years - February 2004 - July 2006 Yet here we are in 2014....3...

Do you think there will be a better stadium in Australia then the MCG?

Don't know if its already been see but this is West Hams proposal for the London stadium with retractable seating. http://www.whufc.com/articles/20130329/olympic-stadium-plans-revealed_2236884_3125605
