Just read om ABC news that Gil is defending a plan to shorten the AFLW season to just six regular season games. Players are up in arms against it saying that it is hard to justify the sacrifices they make to play footy for that short a season. I tend to agree.

I've been a bit of a critic of the standard of AFLW but watching some highlights of last night's game a couple of the Brisbane running goals and the Frederick-Traub checkside were just outstanding and would be fawned over if those kind of goals were kicked in the AFL.

Dont understand the decision not allowed to play in the AFLW but is allowed to play in a local league. Would it not stand to reason that she would be less dominant in the higher level AFLW than a local league?

So Hannah has played women's handball already and fits within the IOC's rules for transgender athletes which the AFL abide by. I don't see how Hannah can be denied from playing AFLW.

Seemingly a huge loss to Australian womens baaketball. With so many basketballers leaving to join the AFLW, basketball administration in this country must be hating on Australian football.

There was some suggestion that the AFL should have gone with a new franchise format ala the BBL but I think the existing club format will work out just fine.
