Let's hope the comps involved kick the traitors out. That will hopefully show that the game is bigger than the clubs.

West Ham should be a lot easier to beat than Arsenal though.

Yeah I think those two results probably end the race barring a massive uptick in form.

    Zidane and Moomba's FFP chat.

No, but given Premier League doesn't have finals there is much less grey area with the runners up winning the cup. OTOH the Armstrong "titles" are still vacant.

I get the feeling Arsenal would rather drown themselves in cement than hire Mourniho.

    SKYBET EFL Championship 2019/20

I have no idea how that side is so poor. Allen and Butland alone would make heaps of Premier League sides (OK maybe not Butland) and there's plenty of proven Championship quality there. Surely this is the year that Leeds break the curse?

Well they're definitely way more likely to do that than win the thing or even make Europe. Think their signing strategy is more sustainable than Fulham's though, and unlike Fulham they're not leaving it to the last minute.

Woy > Bruce as a manager. Hodgson’s a good fit for lower-tier PL sides, Bruce is Championship standard.

    SKYBET EFL Championship 2019/20

Depends on who signs where I guess. It's always a bit of a lottery especially given how poor the quality of the sides going down are (though it looks like Fulham won't lose as many players as I expected)

RIP Newcastle. Without him they'd have finished last in 2017/18 and probably gone down this year too.

Definitely. Hell you could probably argue is even a factor for Bayern and Juve. IMO the best CL structure is having two-three really gun sides that means for proper competition but means enough easy games that you won't fatigue as much.

Not sure falling from 1st to 3rd when they were only 3 points ahead with a game in hand is that significant of a capitulation, especially given weird s**t tends to happen in play-offs. Their actual performances OTOH.....

    SKYBET EFL Championship 2019/20

Will be interesting to see who threatens. Huddersfield I think will struggle given how poor they were last season (and even their last season in the Championship I think they went up despite having a negative goal differential?), Fulham were also s**t last season and will likely lose a lot of...

This was Ipswich for ages (up until this season). From memory Tranmere and Oldham stayed in League One for a long time too.

Interesting to note that they were in League 1 as recently as 2014. Has been a real rollercoaster ride for them.

I’m sensing a few parallels between you under Bruce and Cardiff under Colin tbh. I’m probably talking s**t but Championship promotions do often surprise.

    2018/19 English Football Predictions

I have to say that’s a pretty decent effort. Got all 4 CL places right, two of the relegation ones right and barring Fulham and Watford none of the ladder predictions seem badly off. Excellent chance of getting the CL/EL quinella right too.

    UEFA Champions League 2018/19

England did 3/4 three years in a row from 07 to 09, I think that’s the closest? 07-08 no English club were knocked out by a foreign club.

Yeah let's not pretend that the Schalke of this season is the same as last. s**t like this is fairly common. It does feel like you always get 1 really weak group at CL level though.

It doesn't help they were perceived as such a nothing club under Sparky. So Pulis's reputation still ran strong. Were Palace/WBA all that thuggish?

Yeah they still should make the playoffs and from there anything could happen. They did just draw with Ipswich but upsets do happen, and I don't think losing to Sheffield and Leeds is too much to worry about? Terrible call.
