Half time entertainment only really ran from 1987 till about 1995 (assuming that the half time sprint isn't considered entertainment), apart from the Batmobile there was a message, perhaps tongue in cheek, that during the 1995 show which was a tribute to Australian Film that the Geelong fans...
It happened to us once in 2007 up here. Playing against BITS Saints we started the Senior match with 18 players, 15 of whom had played Reserve Grade and another had played Under 17's during the day (we would have had 19 but one player broke his arm in the 2s). By 3/4 time we had 11 fit players...
Pretty much every town in Qld that has a footy team is from a population of 4 figures or more. I dare say the smallest town would be one of the teams in the Darling Downs competition, probably a Dalby or a Highfields for example.
Having seen North Hobart Oval myself a couple of years ago (admittedly the stand on the outer side that was destroyed was under repair) I'm still shaking my head over how they could squeeze so many in the ground that afternoon.
Didn't NSW beat WA in the 1988 Carnival?
Words are based on my copy of the songs so it may not be 100% accurate

TOP 10
- 1986 State of Origin, Both SA v Vic and WA v Vic. 3 Gun sides slugging it out.
- 1987 Rd 22, Footscray v Melbourne. Packed Kennel, Robert Flower turning the game, THAT stretcher, the roar from the Dees fans as the score from Geelong came through.
- 1978, Footscray v St.Kilda, the day...
For several years after this (and a few before) the NTFL also played fixtures against AFL opposition around the Australia Day weekend. I know they played Freo in 1995 and I believe Essendon in 1986 at the old Gardens Oval but I can't think of who else they battled.
Reckon Brad Rowe would have worn 32.
Dennis Dunn from the All Stars was the bloke who had the NTFL season goalkicking record broken by Damian Cupido a couple of seasons ago, had a brother named Victor from memory. Another member of the all conquering St Marys machine.
According to my 2009 Season Guide, there was a Carlton player by the name of Tommy Downs who was suspended 4 times for a total of 60 weeks. Also I believe the bloke who decked the umpire (John Bourke) got 10 years reduced to 6 on appeal (Source: Heart of the Game DVD).
That was also a foray into Wednesday or Thursday night football that was widely seen in the early stages of that season. There was also games on the Labor Day holiday Monday in Victoria, one of those games surprisingly involved Brisbane.
Pretty sure Glenelg had their own song which was something like "A tiger for me, a tiger for me, if you're not a tiger then [something] with me" before they adopted Tigerland.
In terms of tunes and teams from SANFL/WAFL
- Port Adelaide and East Fremantle use variations of the Notre Dame March...
That 1989 side also had Brereton on the bench and Garry Lyon playing in defence. Compare to the 1995 side which had all of Ablett, Lockett, Lyon and Stewart Loewe in the forward 50 compared to the SA attack of that match of Ricciuto, D.Jarman, Richard Champion and one or two other players who...
