Society/Culture Working from home vs forced back to the office

My last job couldn’t be done from home and neither can my next one, but my current can. All for the same organisation who has a 3/2 policy and any more than 2 days WFH can be negotiated and formally recognised, but standard 3/2 split doesn’t need any special agreement. Unfortunately my...

It’s good too see the local churches and Christians out saving Victorian towns from being destroyed by floods. The towns would be ****ed without their support and providing vital equipment. Lot more useful than the government hiding down in Melbourne.

They still get long term support, but not at a level that someone would choose it over finding a job. Anyone unable to work would be covered under different payments.

It is relevant as you don’t want to have people finding it easier to sit at home doing nothing because their welfare payments are so good. What could be a good idea is an increase in payments, maybe to the Covid supplement level, but every year the payment drops. So someone loses their job...

Thats fair enough, at least you did give it a crack. You’re better than a lot of people out of work who won’t try anything. But sounds like a s**t company, yes we had to buy our own uniform, but they supply it now. I will add I’m not doing it anymore because I’ve got my dream job but it was a...

The biggest thing I found is they don’t usually advertise but always looking to take people on as there is a very high turnover. I got a job within 3 days of applying but took 2 more months to actually get work. But it’s easy to control how much you want to work and anyone who is committed and...

Traffic control, plenty of work, anyone can do it and starts at $30 an hour. If anyone on the dole thinks that's too hard then they're probably not serious about work.

So Centrelink complain anytime you go into the office because you can do everything online, yet you cannot report your employment income online if you've worked too many hours...I'm not getting paid either way so it doesn't bother me if it's late, but it's pretty stupid system. There isn't a...

    Covid-19 Wuhan Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Part 4 - Ivermectin doesn't work either.

The problem with this excuse is last year they had different restrictions and bar one or 2 small outbreaks, 99% of regional Victoria remained Covid free. Still 18 months the vast majority of regional Victoria have had less than 5 cases ever!!! QLD have twice locked down just Brisbane, no ring...

I noticed most of the people who say it’s just not possible say they‘d been in China recently which makes you think they’re very unlikely to support the theories of the lab leak if they want to return to China one day...

    Covid-19 Wuhan Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Part 4 - Ivermectin doesn't work either.

I know, but 12 months ago those same experts said there was no chance whatsoever it got out from the lab and now they’ve changed their tune. Particularly one self appointed Covid expert, the ABCs no1 spin doctor. It is very concerning for all, not only for biosecurity but the fact something so...

So last time I was working, Centrelink reporting meant you had to report on your income for the fortnight cycle of your benefits and if it didn’t match up with pay dates you had to predict your income earned. Yet now I go in and it won’t let you report on a future pay date? Fine by me!!! But...

Because for healthy people the virus is nothing to fear? People weigh up getting a 60% effective vaccine for a 99.7% survival rate virus. No one in Australia has actually died of Covid who’s younger than my age group so why would I fear it? Besides, this highly infectious disease doesn’t really...

Yep, it’s a strange idea people got about it. All this talk of get us vaccinated so we can open up was rubbish. Problem is people are thinking if this like a proper vaccine and not just a flu shot. But some people actually think the flu shot stops them getting the flu too!
