Can someone please re-watch the St Kilda v North game on Good Friday and report back to us, on the assumption that they don't cark it in response?
Please, someone!
Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain. It cannot be doubted the JDG is dumber than Gary Rohan; dumber than Stringer; dumber than Charlie Curnow - and that is quite a list. To have learnt nothing.
St Kilda is a foundation club so worthy of support. Hawthorn built multiple dynasties out of an ability to make good decisions. That was the foundation of their success. The Saints have done the opposition - and one has to look no further than its cataclysmic decision to recruit Hanneberry (and...
One does not have to be a doctor to see how unhealthy Ratten looks. I have lost a couple of mates over the past two years and they both had that same patina to their faces and physique in general. If the 2021 gig does not work out, I hope he walks away, being the honourable guy that he is, to...
Melbourne v Gold Coast in 2016 @ MCG where Jack Watts . . . . saved the day and Tom Lynch missed a goal after the siren. This was a heroically incompetent game. Melbourne great David Schwarz declared on radio this was “some of the worst footy we’ll ever see”.
Worst game I have ever seen - and I have seen some shockers - is North v St Kilda 2018 Good Friday where both sides kicked 2.10 apiece at half time. It is bad in a legendary sense. I am not alone in my nomination of this atrocity . . . . .
Big Carl specialised in the extended handball, where his fist would hit the ball and then keep on its trajectory to bury itself in an opposition player. The footage from his last match with the Dees against Collingwood is very funny stuff - he tramples a Collingwood player who was unwise enough...
I once went for a swim in the dam in the south-east corner. There was rumoured to be a suction pump at the bottom of the dam - the water was used on the surface itself - so we were careful not to swim too deep in the middle. I so miss VFL Park and that amazing video screen on the eastern end...
Like many other Melbourne supporters I am grateful for Collingwood's magnanimity re QB. With the exception of Carlton, foundation clubs need to stick together.
Another thing I like about NN is that he played in the WCE Spoon side of 2010 but manfully put that behind him to deliver many a memorable moment in the centre square. All power to him!
