Who goes to the local footy?

Nah, Macca just hates us because of a childhood incident if I recall correctly. Fair enough too, but to call us rednecks when you support Port!?!?!? I hope you realise you also insult the large number of Port fans who come from Salisbury and Elizabeth with your comments, including some of...

    No Swearing at Footy Park

Although economics and the standard price indexes etc etc aren't my greatest field of knowledge I've always been tempted to write a letter to the Prices Surveillance Authority about bloody Football Park. I cannot believe they can legitimise their pricing policy.

Which club has the lowest credibility in 2001 ?

It's not a question of believing it. It was a merger of playing operations, and Fitzroy does live on in both the Brisbane Bears-Fitzroy Football Club (official name of Brisbane Lions) in the AFL, and the FFC Ltd trading in Melbourne. Coming from a Port supporter, you'd understand legal...

when was the last time your team made you proud?

When Fitzroy beat the Crows at Footy Park in 1995. Glorious day defeating them in front of their own crowd. Wore my scarf with pride that night, and got marvelously slaughtered in the Oxford Hotel in North Adelaide afterwards with several Royboys I'd never met before in my life and have never...

Most Certainly The Strongest Club In The World

beautiful ;) Lets hope for two Lions/Fitzroy premierships this year. Only question is whether Brissy can do it, as the Reds are a shoe-in!!

    Supporters

Fitzroy.........now to a degree Brisbane. My father moved to Melbourne from N.Ireland and after a few months was talked into following the Lions by a work colleague. He seldom missed a match afterwards until the late 70's/early 1980's when he moved to Adelaide. I basically followed my...

Which club do you love seeing lose the most?

'Sydney. Being a Sydney-sider, and not supporting them, can only mean i despise the team. ' Being a South Aussie who dislikes both our AFL sides I have to agree. I vote Crows as I respect Port's history, but have nothing but contempt for the muppets at West Lakes :D

    Singing at the footy?

'If we can get the Collingwood Cheer Squad sounding half as good as the Centrals crowd by the end of the season I'll feel that we're making progress. ' I wish we still had one!! The bulk of the Centrals Cheer Squad defected when the Crows were formed. The leader of the Crows Cheer Squad (Red...

    Singing at the footy?

Also remember the Crows playing Melbourne at FP a few years back, and Centrals had the curtain raiser (the SANFL had a stupid policy of playing SANFL matches before the Crows, thankfully no more) Centrals had about 5-600 fans standing behind the goals and the singing started. A few of the...

    Singing at the footy?

As good as last years SANFL Grand Final atmosphere was it was tepid compared to the 95 and 96 ones :-) We had no real opposition in the crowd as out of 35,000 at least 25,000 were Centrals. I'd say that in 95 and 96 the crowd was split 50-50 between Centrals and Port and the crowds were in...

    Singing at the footy?

In the SANFL Centrals are famous for their singing (also unfortunately for their rioting) after all our fans are mostly British migrants. During the 1996 SANFL Grand Final the singing started and the entire Central contigent at the match, around 20,000 +, joined in. Sounded like an FA Cup Final.

    Elliot.....You Loser

'Frankly, I long for the days of the VFL, with 12 Victorian based teams and the great rivalries and atmosphere which used to exist at games. Oh, and of course there was the odd "State" game to remind us of how good VFL was, and how irrelevant SA was except as a nursery for VFL players. [/B]...

Missing the point on the AFL / VFL thingy

'We are told that Port Power are the SAME Port Adelaide Magpies that won 34 SANFL flags and then joined the AFL. We are also told that the Port Adelaide Magpies currently playing in the SANFL are....wait for it....the same Port Adelaide Magpies that have been playing since 2000BC in the...
