After clubs started strategically winning few enough games to qualify for automatic priority picks at the top of the draft, they changed it so clubs have to apply. Every club uses the rules in place at the time. It happens that North didn’t need them and didn’t deliberately put themselves in a...
My gold Collingwood club support partner and son got their tickets and are very happy with them.
The time it takes to get out of the Ticketek lounge on a device is clearly entirely random.
Took almost an hour to buy six tickets across three Collingwood games. Not only did every step of the Ticketek process either not work, or work so slowly it used up all the allocated time on the clock (the only part of the site that operated properly), but the information kept changing -...
Exactly what I was thinking watching him yesterday. He isn’t tiring, he’s getting stronger, covering more ground, contributing up the field as well as down back.
Have they tricked up the system so you can only sit on level 4 if you are buying a junior member seat? We got best available in front of Q but when we tried for our usual level 1 or 2 for the family it kept saying no ticket for the junior.
Blast from the past to quote me in his thread. At the time Melbourne were rubbish and drawing ordinary crowds and I didn’t see they deserved the annual gift. Now I don’t care. They get given everything and are still terrible, that’s life.
I think sexual assault is a bit strong, but I do think it's really poor behaviour. He's not Hodge and McVeigh isn't his friend, so the intent and reception are entirely different. I don't care what workplace you are in, it's not appropriate, and I hope Langford has been told so. He's doing a...
Because Bickley and Stevens were champion players in champion teams? Decent players in ordinary teams like Lyons and Neitz, not sure how they are even in the conversation.
Stevo was among the best players in a team that was outstanding for seven years, and its best in one of the years that team won a flag. Playing 300 games and winning/placing in B&Fs for North in the 90s is worth a lot more than some people are giving him credit for.
I'd probably have put...
I was a member for a number of years, used to take my kids as it was a) nice to always have seats in a majority North area b) cheaper across the season than booking L1 seats each week and c) something we could do for home and away games. We didn't do the travel or the banners or anything...
I saw Jess Sinclair putting petrol on his car in Ashburton.
Once Chris Tarrant bought bread at Bakers Delight at Tooronga (the old one, before the shopping centre) while I was waiting.
Blake Grima delivered a new fridge to my place.
Saw David Parkin at junior footy. He said "nice mark" to my...
He covered that too. Said he will be taking his kids to watch North each week. Maybe amuse yourself in another thread - this one is to celebrate the end of the longest VFL/AFL career ever played.
Have a listen to his speech, then. Three of his family have played for North Melbourne so far and he hopes he isn't the last.
Champion of our club and the game. He had a right to play on, but glad he goes out with class.
There's an idea. Players who don't feel they gave enough and want to donate their medals can start a pool from which players who deserved one but didn't get one can draw. In from Cameron Mooney #1, out to Ross Smith.
It is a memento of the day, for the guys who were there, and each of them can...
Nothing there to argue with, except the expression "all out" suggests eggs in one basket - the club has still drafted and developed its full quota of kids every year while also grabbing targeted free agents, so it hasn't been a huge gamble. Had some bad injury luck with quite a few draftees, but...
Not sure it's the biggest test. The departures of Carey, Stevens, McKernan, Martyn, King, Rock, Blakey, Longmire and the rest was a bigger challenge, after seven years of top four finishes and the lack of high draft picks that went with that (compounded by the self-inflicted issues of paying a...
Bit hard to argue when the "research" has been so extensive.
North's older players have lasted longer and not left for greener pastures - plus we have had a lot of injuries to younger players - plus we just aren't a club that gives senior spots away unless players demand to be picked with VFL...
That is a damn shame. His attitude is great and obviously will have a lot of support, so he will be back, but it's a loss and a real pity, especially when he was just back from the layoff and having such an impact.
Think you mean "other trolls". And no, they don't support North Melbourne, never post on the North board, and pretty much all us of us have them on ignore.
Haven't had as much fun at the draft since the pick 4 for Carey suddenly became pick 2, I'll give you that. As North has "earned" only three top 10 picks this century (one each at 3, 5 and 9) it's hardly surprising that it hasn't drafted the most talented juniors. But it's done all right...
North board mods are more welcoming than most, and we are just having some fun with the optimism having made finals despite the draw and injury list and some frankly turgid performances - although I'm not sure how far you have looked on our board if you haven't seen the widespread despair and...
