One hand, 4+ goals against the reigning premiers is a pretty good haul - close to BOG too.
On the other hand, I think there will be a great resurgence in the modern game for slow 174cm midfielders who average 13 disposals. Just wait....
Sorry but I'm not seeing the bull case with Fremantle here.
Unless of course teams are all of a sudden going to be susceptible to a one paced midfield with ordinary disposal, trying to lace out the skeleton of Matt Taberner?
Makes me laugh when Freo fans trot this line out yet they've never been relevant or won a premiership 😂
Happy to take it from nearly every other club, though. Just another example of Fremantle delusion.
Very ordinary game, no doubt. Concerning part for me was seeing him physically flinch/recoil at least 2-3 times when going head to head with Tom Green.
Don't get me wrong - I'd do the same. But that's still exceptionally poor form.
He did, but still. It's a top 4 list easy on talent and has been for a long time.
It's a bit like GWS and Leon Cameron. His tenure was praised for always being "around the mark" of finals yet really, the list was capable of more.
Their GF still gets mentioned as a reason for him to stay, but that's quickly approaching a decade ago.
Footscray suffer from a classic case of Small Club Syndrome. One person gives them success and they quickly defy all logic trying to replicate it.
Crazy when you think about it like that. Greats of the game have gone without whilst front running chipscabs get rewarded for their stat sheet hauls. Incredible, really.
Beau McCreery has been gassed up in the media and Twitter recently - I really am not seeing anything more than a country footballer in a system that runs itself.
Kane Cornes wasn't far off the mark with his Taranto call. He's basically a glorified Will Brodie.
Stringer definitely in there but I don't think he's that rated anymore outside of Media commentators.
