Geelong to go undefeated in 2024??

Melbourne is mentally the weakest team in the game. They severely lack composure, panic, and kick the ball in hope. You can play the classic 'rope-a-dope' with them.

Opinion North Melbourne Priority Picks Part 2 - 2023/2024

I get why they brought Clarkson in, expecting him to basically change the whole club. But, it’s probably going to be a decision they, and the AFL, will regret. The game has passed Clarkson. He is now becoming dangerous for the club. His behaviour is poor for a leader. Hopefully, North didn’t...

Opinion North Melbourne Priority Picks Part 2 - 2023/2024

You are really up and about after beating a team that has only won 1 of their past 27 or 28 games….

Opinion North Melbourne Priority Picks Part 2 - 2023/2024

Why? He left the Pies for a longer term contract and more game time on the ball. He didn’t leave for any other reason. North could have offered him 4 years and more midfield time.

Player Watch Harley Reid isnt leading the rising star so far

To be fair, Reid is a more complete player. Rowell is a beast, but you never see him taking a contested mark or playing forward. Reid is explosive out of packs, can take a grab and can kick goals.

Player Watch Harley Reid isnt leading the rising star so far

It was only about 3 weeks ago that clown Melbourne fan, danster, was questioning Harley Reid’s performances, suggesting Eagles fans would be disappointed in what they got for their 1st pick. No idea….

Opinion North Melbourne Priority Picks Part 2 - 2023/2024

Before the season commenced there was an interview where Jayden Stephensen was looking to take on more of a mentoring role of the new recruits. Now, that just says it all about a severe lack of leadership.

Opinion North Melbourne Priority Picks Part 2 - 2023/2024

Could have had Taylor Adams this season. He was VC at the Pies, and plays hard. The attributes which made him appealing to the Swans should have been the same the Roos for looking for.

Opinion North Melbourne Priority Picks Part 2 - 2023/2024

They recruit soft players like Dylan Stephens and Fisher, when they need hard at it leaders.

Analysis Hawthorn rebuild: are they tanking?

What’s sustained poor performance? In the 13 years from the 2023 premiership, Pies won 2 GF, played and lost in another 2 GF, played and lost in another 2 prelims, and missed finals 5x. Even if you look at the decade prior to the 2023 premiership, we lost a GF, lost 2 prelims, and played...

And his mate thought he was better than Nick Daicos.

Roast St Kilda in no mans land

They have a few excellent kids. I think the midfield needs a little polish and much more depth running through it. Apart from last night’s game, the saints have been good this season.

I don't know how long Harvey lasted as an assistant coach at the Pies.

    Best midfield ever?

You forgot 4x AA, Nigel Lappin.

Analysis Hawthorn rebuild: are they tanking?

You have a bag of excuses to match constantly being wrong.

Which team out of Adelaide, North and Hawthorn has the better youth? Part 2

Just as I told you last year Fergus Greene (who you thought was something special) would not make another AFL list, Cooper Stephens will be following him in 2025.

Analysis Hawthorn rebuild: are they tanking?

But that's no different to what the Hawks have done over the past 3 or 4 seasons, when expectations were low, yet it hasn't translated to anything the following season. That is, despite your excitement each year.

    Nathan Murphy retires

Really, the mandatory time off for a concussion should probably be a lot longer than what it currently is. Unfortunately, that brings with it a whole set of other issues. When Brayshaw stopped playing for a period in 2017, he said he worked on neck strengthening exercises. I wonder if this is...

    Nathan Murphy retires

It's been reported the Pies added an extra year and $500k to his contract end of 2023 so that he could make the right decision without worrying about money.

Which team out of Adelaide, North and Hawthorn has the better youth? Part 2

But Hustwaite got an opportunity later last year when Stephens had been playing practically the last 20 games of Box Hill's season. And Stephens was delisted and rookied end of 2023. Make of that what you will, but seems to me, at this point, he isn't seen as good enough to be an AFL player.

He'll be the best player in the game within 3 years.

Which team out of Adelaide, North and Hawthorn has the better youth? Part 2

Did you not say 'he's been injured more than not at Box Hill'? Well, I just pointed out he played 20 games last year at Box Hill, and he has played 2 of 3 games in 2024. Hustwaite was preferred over him late last season. It's not looking good for him at all.
  24. VinnieB

Which team out of Adelaide, North and Hawthorn has the better youth? Part 2

Stephens played 20 games in the VFL in 2023, and has played 2 of 3 games in 2024. So, again, you don't let the facts get in the way of one of your stories, as he hasn't been 'injured more than not at Box Hill'.
  25. VinnieB

Which team out of Adelaide, North and Hawthorn has the better youth? Part 2

Ward and Newcombe are not quick at all. Ward's speed is average at best. Newcombe is good for 5m burst but anything longer and he gets caught. Mackenzie has potential but seems to lack a bit of confidence. Day is the best player at Hawthorn by a mile.

Which team out of Adelaide, North and Hawthorn has the better youth? Part 2

Kane Cornes and Gerard Healy seem to be talking up Soligo. Cornes in particular seems to think he could be a genuine A grade talent.
