I love both, but I can rewatch Seinfeld episodes all the time and they're still hilarious. I don't find I'm able to enjoy CYE unless it's been a long, long time since I've seen the episode.
CYE is kind of like a horror movie - you watch because of the incredibly involving and often painful...
I tried this for a few months last year and it was absolutely shocking. Occasionally I'd get 10 minutes of reasonable quality service but it'd inevitably fail and I'd go back to illegal streams. My internet connection wasn't the problem because streaming on my computer would work fine but even...
Wasn't in the same league as Ali G or Borat. The best of the movie can be seen in the trailer and any talk show interview. Relied too much on shock value.
I laughed, but mainly in disbelief and didn't really enjoy it.
After just watching Memento for the first time, I'd have to say Nolan is miles ahead of anyone else at the moment. The guy can't do anything wrong.
I like Tarantino's style but other than Pulp Fiction I don't think he's actually made a great movie.
Fincher is quality, but doesn't always...
I tried to watch a few of the old 'classics' in the past 12 months.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Next - Awesome movie. Great story, interesting characters and great acting.
A Clockwork Orange - Weird. I didn't hate it, but I can't say I enjoyed it either. Just a strange, unique movie...
They're blabbing on about having 15 FTA channels and a tv guide available, which I already have (in fact I'm pretty sure there are more than 15 channels, most of which get absolutely no use by the station).
So is this FreeView thing adding anything or just a new label for digital tv?
I was a bit disappointed as well. It's decent, but feels very rushed. The whole plot seems a bit pointless. It seems like the writers had no idea what to do, so they made up some crazy story about a weird monster, even though they had no idea where they were going with it. IMO if they had the...
I just heard a great line...they're going on about how all food we buy will give us cancer and they come out with this brilliantly contradictory line:
"Secret government test results obtained by Today Tonight through the freedom of information act"
The movie contained nothing that hasn't been done before numerous times. It was bearable, but not anything special.
From what I've heard about the book it seems like there was huge potential to make the movie interesting and become a lot more than a tame zombie flick, but they ignored all of...
Brilliant show. I've got the complete box set and absolutely love it.
It is a bit of a shame they only made three seasons, but at least it never went stale.
Need to bring this thread back. My rankings have changed a bit since the thread was made.
Keep in mind that these shows are in my top 6 favourite of all time (along with Black Books), so there is no shame in being last.
1 - Futurama (Just a brilliant show. Mixes all sorts of humour...
Absolutely loved it. It wasn't mind-blowingly brilliant as some seem to expect, but it was a very entertaining movie, and IT'S THE FREAKIN RETURN OF FUTURAMA!
Very classy return and am looking forward to the next few.
It is a shame it isn't available on DVD in Australia yet. I'm guessing...
Watched the first 20 minutes and it was just boring. I don't know why they have that Francis character so unlikeable and annoying.
I might give it another go, but I'm not going to go to any great trouble to see it..
I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't bad, but didn't do such a great show justice. It really just went through the motions of many previous Simpsons episodes (it starts well, Homer gets them in trouble, everyone hates him and then he fixes the problem).
If you can just accept that, "yes they have a time machine" then it is a good movie.
I think the whole concept of the time travel thing put a lot of people off and stopped them from enjoying what is actually a decent movie.
