It'll be embarrassing for them if he gets the verdict overturned on appeal. Shouldn't be too quick with the pitchforks, as we've seen so many times before
About the right amount of respect for a guy who tried to hold his club to ransome with contract negotiations on the Footy Show, and another bloke who git rubbed out for a year for trying to pervert the draft system.
The fact that they'e both subsequently failed on the field is just a bonus
WC deserve credit for trying to help him build stability and get his life back on track. They've really learned their lessons as a club and don' deserve all the earlier stuff getting dredged up
Saints sacking Milne before he'd been investigated always sat badly with me. No presumption of innocence; ended the career of a long-time player who in the end was not convicted.
All to spare some headlines? Poor loyalty from the club I reckon.
When the Saints stood him down there had been no deal and he had not been convicted of anything. I'm not trying to portray Milne as an angel, but contrasting the behaviour of the two clubs. North would not have suffered at all by cutting Daw loose, and it's to their credit that they have not...
North are doing the right thing by standing by Daw until the question of his guilt is settled. It's a pity the Saints didn't have the guts to do the same for Milne - he was a long-serving player who lost the chance to be a 300 gamer and in the end was never convicted.
North should be applauded...
I know, right? It's like that poor Anders Breivik guy. He never killed 77 people except for that one time he did, but now that's the first thing people remember about him.
Disappointing that he didn't get to 300 games just because of a rape charge that ultimatelly wasn't pursued.
St Kilda should have stood by him, the way North has done with Majak.
