Single Entity Teams That Have Disappeared In The Last 25 Years.

Good news is that Moranbah are back in business in Mackay having only fielded youth teams for the last 2 seasons (although the Pioneer Power junior club is now merged with the Baker's Creek Tigers which actually isn't all that bad news, Bakers now will field teams in all grades thanks to Power's...

Single Entity Teams That Have Disappeared In The Last 25 Years.

Moranbah (AFL Mackay) have had to pull out of both Mens and Women's comps this year. Juniors still operating.

    Charging entry fees for players?

$3 for us whenever we play away games (home games included in the rego package). Was $2 a number of years ago. We do get passes when the finals are played.

Single Entity Teams That Have Disappeared In The Last 25 Years.

Sadly due to lack of players it seems that the Maryborough Bears in the Wide Bay comp are done this year as a senior team. Not sure if they'll make it back to be honest.

What is your club's training schedule?

PRE-SEASON: Monday, Wednesday, Friday @ 5:30. Last year it was structured as running on Mondays, Pool on Wednesdays and Gym on Fridays but it's more skill and game theory work this time around IN-SEASON: Tuesday, Thursday @ 6:00.

Single Entity Teams That Have Disappeared In The Last 25 Years.

I can also add the Central Highlands Football League in Qld to this list (eventually died at the turn of the century after being a 9 a side comp for a few years). Clubs included the Blackwater Cats, Emerald Saints and Dysart Swans to name 3. There was also a Fraser Coast Lions in the Wide Bay...

    Burley Footballs

Played with Burley's in an Under 16 rep carnival in 2000, found I couldn't kick the ball properly. Found it to be narrower and pointier than the Sherrin.

would you like to play in a night final

We haven't had a night game for about 5 years, but would personally like to have one next year (or a twilight game, 5:30 start). I think cost is the issue with the Cricket Grounds, and no-one from Rocky wants to play at night against Gladstone and get home at about 11PM (and their lights are...

    Best Full Forwards Local Leagues

Our best up here was a guy called Clint Ennis (total w***er off the park, but anyway) who often kicked 7+ each week first for us, then for Panthers. Now that he's gone though probably Yeppoon's Wes Hawke's the #1 in the league. He kicked 11 on us a few weeks ago. Apart from that it's Darren...

Worst Clubrooms provided For senior Use

Worst up here would have to be Boyne Island's rooms. The toilet is often blocked and it reeks. Plus the showers are generally devoid of hot water after about 10 minutes. We used to have the worst when we played at Victoria Park. Years ago (early 90's) the visitor's "ROOMS" were just a public...

Used to wear them in Under 17's, but now prefer not to. Go for the hipster briefs instead.

    Coaches

I don't think there's been one yet that has been good. My old man was too afraid to play me in the 2's (I was skinny as when I was 16), both my Under 17's coaches were not really the greatest influence, a few of the others have been mini-busses...

Not a GF choke but in 1999 BITS Saints went through without defeat (as expected) but then lost the 2nd semi on their own patch before losing the prelim the next week.

When you're playing, how long before the game do you get to the ground?

If we're on a bus trip, then it's usually 11:00/11:30 for a 12:45 start, then it's straight into the rooms if needed to double-up. If it's a home game or game in Rocky, it's around 10:00 for a 12:45 start, then watch the 15's and 17's. If we're down at the beach, it's about 12:00/12:15 for a...

    U/17's step up to U/19's
