Will clubs still need to make 3 picks each year in the National Draft if list sizes decrease to 35?
You would think this number would have to decrease also, possibly making round 4 and 5 draft picks obsolete (or worthless).
A number one draft pick that only plays 31 games for your club is definitely a flop.
Who cares if he's playing good football at GWS, his disposal is still suspect.
Your paying $500k of Lobbe's salary making him your 3rd highest paid player.....and your playing him in the twos.
That's not good trading.
Not sure you should be calling anyone a cretin with those figures.
And both are pushed to the pre season draft.
Dilemma 1 - who do Essendon choose?
Dilemma 2 - do Brisbane swoop on the player not picked at 1 or do they go in another directions?
Dilemma 3 - would Freo swoop if Brisbane didn't?
Carlton would definitely pick one of them if either the Lions or...
If both Kreuzer and Leuenberger are Restricted free agents then their clubs can match any offer.
If they decide not to do so then they should lose the ability to get Band 1 compensation.
Picks at the end of Round 1 for Carlton and Brisbane should be the compensation.

I know our recruitment and retention of players in recent years has been nothing short of appalling, but swapping Watts for Melsham, please don't ******* insult us.
No team wants any player from Essendon whilst SCN's are hanging over their heads.
Good luck with your trading period.
Is this guy the son of Danny Hughes (ex Melb & Adel). I have heard on the grapevine that Melbourne is very interested if we are talking about the same Hughes and will use their 3rd round pick under the father/son selection criteria.
