Unfortunately, it opens up a whole new can of worms.
They tried this in Union several years ago. Fair enough - scrums an obvious area of concern.
Some coaches were caught giving kids diuretics.
Look, the weight issue in junior rugby (both codes) is a massive problem. But if you have weight...
Well, if you have to have National Anthems before a game, that's how to do it.
Good singers, no bullsh*t 'clever' arrangements, no vocal gymnastics. Just sing the songs well, and get on with it.
AFL and everyone else, take note.
I wonder if NSW ever practised together.
The first half, the preferred play was to give it to the stationary bloke 6 inches away, and watch him grind out another 2-3 yards. At least Queensland tried to pass the ball away from the ruck and markers.
And Walker!?!?! Brought on for the last 10...
It seemed like every pass he made set a player through a gap. I sat at one end (so not the television view) and it was noticeable how he would hold a pass up for that split-second and wait for the defense to move - and than bam!
The difference was a Cameron Smith conversion miss.
Smith has been getting away without criticism for his kicking for a few years now. He is inconsistent (has some horrible patches) and rarely nails the tough sideline kicks. In today's game, almost every team has a kicker who can hit those...
My take on the Video ref - if it ain't 100% clear one way or the other - ref's call. Far too often it seems the video ref works on 'probably this is what happened'.
I can see hiow it could work (seriously). Like it or not - Rugby league DOES have an international presence - competitions in Australia, New Zealand and the UK (with teams in France). Now, everybody knows the most important thing in improving your coverage brand awareness/interest is TV...
I could see 3 possible decisions:
1. Played at the ball deliberately and illegally with the boot. Penalty Try.
2. Played at the ball accidentally but illegally with the boot. Inglis then knocks on (off his arm) - penalty Qld.
3. Played at the ball accidentally and NOT illegally with the...
True, but if a club has excess money and wants to spend it on the cap, they can just give it to a supporter, who can then '3rd-party deal' a player.
There won't be too many of those deals at the small, poor clubs.
So he's going to Souths based on Andrew Forrest employing him for $100K as a - well, who knows what.
The salary cap is a joke - you can effectively pay players over the cap provided some wealthy supporter 'employs' them in some 3rd party deal.
Following the Storm debacle we now know what's...
I think you missed my point. We have just built (or nearly built) a new stadium for rugby, league and soccer. I would have said that the Storm were probably the major customer for that (in a year, Rugby will probably play 7-8 games plus maaaaybeee 1 test, soccer 10-12 games plus finals, Storm...
