RIP Slim. You will be missed. On the field he was a hell of a talent. Off field, it's not my place to judge him for anything he has or has not done in his short time on earth.
Re: Chris Henry Returns
Lewis never ran the team on his own terms. Its no different to Jerry Jones over-ruling Parcells in Dallas and signing Owens. Its just the way of the NFL.
Re: Arizona Cardinals
I was surprised that Ali Highsmith wasn't drafted and he seems to have played well in the preseason. If he doesn't make the team I bet he gets picked up on waivers.
Re: KC Chiefs
I like what I have seen from Thigpen. He is from a small school and needs more NFL experience but I think he will eventually pass Croyle.
Re: Chris Henry Returns
How? The only crime Ben Cousins has been convicted of is a traffic violation - which the NFL don't issue punishment for. The drugs he was carrying were found to be legal. Nothing the NFL could do. Unlike the AFL, they don't issue punishments for bad press in Victoria. :)
Re: Chris Henry Returns
I don't recall that but thats not the issue at hand anyway.
The issue is: would Ben Cousins still be playing in the NFL? Based on what happened with Chris Henry you would have to say yes.
So to say the NFL is always stricter is incorrect :)
Re: Chris Henry Returns
He was sacked by the Eagles but then Andy D suspended him indefinitely ie he couldn't nominate for the draft or be picked up by any club.
Cousins would still be playing in the NFL, just like Chris Henry after he was cleared of any wrong-doing - his suspension was...
Re: Coasting Returns
I wish I had the time for this but I'm too busy atm :(
If its still going next year and I haven't been banned from bigfooty then I might join up then. :)
Re: Chris Henry Returns
I wouldn't say that. Ben Cousins was kicked out of the AFL without being found guilty of any crime or testing positive to any drug. That would never stand up in the NFL. I'm surprised Chris Henry hasn't started legal proceedings after he was cleared of any wrong-doing.
Chris Henry Returns
Fantastic news, Chris Henry has re-signed with the Bengals. Watch out, the 3 amigos are going to lead the Bengals to the Superbowl :)

Re: Dspeed's Mock Draft
Ted Ginn won't go that high, especially to the Vikings. They already have a Ginn clone called Troy Williamson, who isn't playing very well. Just goes to show that speed isn't everything and you need some polish to be a good WR. Ginn is still very raw as a WR, and has...
Re: Michael Vick v Eli Manning
Not sure why we are comparing these 2 QBs? (there have been plenty of other QBs taken at #1 recently Carr, Palmer, Smith) but if I had to take one of these then I would take Eli Manning. I don't like small QBs. Vick is too small to ever be a truly consistent...
Re: Nick Saban
He wasn't getting it done, but then again he wasn't in the best position to succeed. Not the first or the last great college coach to struggle in the pros.
My Votes:
LaDainian Tomlinson: MVP
Tie: Carson Palmer and Drew Brees: Comeback Player of the Year
Marcus McNeill: Offensive Rookie of the Year

Re: Should Shwne Merriman be going to the pro bowl?
He shouldn't even be playing in NFL games, let alone the pro bowl. The NFL are very weak when it comes to drugs.
Huge call. Just out of the juniors he is definately behind Jarmarcus Russell, Chad Henne and John David Booty. Maybe even Brohm from Louisville. That alone rules him out of the first round and probably the second round. Then when you figure guys like Troy Smith, Brady Quinn, Drew Stanton, Jordan...
Re: Week 13
The laughs keep coming :) Big Ben is garbage, as we are seeing at the moment. Completely shut out last week. People will point to the face he won a superbowl but we are talking about the same team that went to the AFC championship game twice with Kordell Stewart and a superbowl...
Re: Week 11
Haha, the Bengals are really beat up but still win. Ethan Kilmer, 7th round rookie drafted to play special teams, never started in college, never even played defense in college, gets a 52yd int return and ices the game. I had no doubt the Bengals would win, it was only a question if...
