We all know how good those 2 are and they have been noticed. In fact Butters was spoken about as a potential Brownlow medallist.
Butters also right up there among the coaches’ votes, who I assume simply assess the players in the game on the day.
The ‘lack of marks’ comment is the most ridiculous stat for a half back. It just means the defense chips it back and forth. Sicily, Docherty etc get a ton of uncontested marks. So useless.
He played all game in the middle on Sunday. And spent the first 8 minutes on the bench. Still amassed plenty of the ball and was instrumental in the last qtr to us winning the game.
Played most of the game in the middle on Sunday and had 14 contested possessions and 9 clearances.
If there was a stat which showed metres gained after an effective delivery of the ball, he would blow that stat out. His work in congestion getting the ball out to open up the attacking game is on...
A bit unfair on Walsh. Practically no pre-season and only returned a few weeks ago.
But either way, hard to go past Rozee. And Butters showing he is better than the lot.
Rozee looks like he may well be the best matchwinner of the 3.
His past 10 weeks have been excellent. Seems to have plenty of upside to come.
I think in 2 years is will be Rozee, and then a toss up between Brayshaw and Walsh. Maybe Brayshaw because of his all round game.
