In full flight, Judd was a once in a generation player.
Unfortunately he never fully recovered from groin problems suffered in 2007 (Eagles were pushing for a 2nd flag and kept playing him when he needed time out), so the second half of his career wasn't quite as breathtaking as the first...
I'm a big fan of Masten's, he'll be the pick of the eagles midfielders IMO.
Rioli is supremely talented, but won't be a pure midfielder so not sure why he's in this poll?
Give me Martin & Trengove, will both be stars of the comp for a long time.
Even though I admit Geelong are a better and more complete side than the eagles were, I think people need to give credit to the eagles where its due. Finished top 2 in 05, 06 and 07 at the end of the H&A, won a flag and missed out on another one by 5pts.
You don't have a run of results like...
Its a hard one to pick for next year, isn't it?
Demons for mine. 1 year at the bottom (plus 2007) just not enough to turn the list over as much as they need to.
Port & Eagles will rebound quickly, neither will be bottom 4 next year.
Freo are turning over all the dead wood and IMO will only...
Simple enough questions.
Having a tilt at the premiership requires a really really strong side. Does the current Carlton side have what it takes to win a flag?
Were indeed.
I don't believe Collingwood supporters come even close to the 4 sides polled. If anything, I've found them to be just about the most unbiased supporters on these boards the last few years.
Bombers 2000/2001 - Thought they were unbeatable & the greatest side ever, and they didn't hesitate to remind everyone just how great they were.
Eagles 2006 - Talks of a dynasty were apparently a bit too premature, and for a while there the hatred shown towards my fellow eagles posters was...
I take it you haven't seen too much of Kerr?
Bad temper aside, it is very hard to find fault with Kerr's game. Gets the hard ball, can run the lines, has a big tank on him, quick, creative disposal, strong mark, goes forward and kicks goals and runs back to help rebound out of defence. He does...
I didn't think the question was directed at me since I didn't say I would take kerr over Hasleby.
I don't know why i would take Kerr over Hasleby. In fact, I'd be happy with either. I guess my bias is what tips the favour in Kerr's favour.
Have a look at the eagles boards player of the year table. Only Cousins and Wirrpunda are above him, with Wirrpunda a mere 3 votes higher. He's the 3rd best player at a club who will arguably play finals footy this year.
Please tell me where he's gone so wrong that you said "Kerr has nothing...
How can you say that with such certainty so early? Kerr has played in under 2 seasons, and has not yet set a foot wrong. At the moment, Hasleby is probably playing better footy (being the #1 attacking midfielder in freo's lineup). But thats not to say Kerr is playing bad or "has nothing over...
