Depends how seriously you want to engage in the research aspect of academia. If all you want to do is to be a lecturer, then get an honours. That's pretty much all you need. However if you want to progress in any meaningful way into the research field then yeah, PhD will be required.

Went to Stomping Ground brewery in Collingwood last night. Good IPA, really nice milk stout and a brandywine style beer at 11.4% that is really smooth.
Its the s**t thats brewed under license in Australia. The German stuff is good, clean and reliable and the owners are just using that kudos to sell the s**t brewed here.
Peroni is another that is good if the Italian brewed stuff but the Aussie brewed version is pox.
Its got a really high bitterness level which can be a bit of a shock if IPA's are a relatively new thing to a beer drinker. Puts most other IPA's to shame in that regard. I recommend giving it a crack later on after you've bashed a few more IPA's down.
