    Society & Culture Facebook

This is the main reason I keep FB. I can't see any other real easy way to keep track of all the people i've met traveling. There needs to be a "travelers" social network, minus all the privacy concerns. If it was used as commonly as FB then I would happily leave FB all together.

I haven't seen the other humans of '....', but I enjoy the HONY posts. Gives a usually pretty honest glimpse into the lives of average joes. I don't usually read the comments though as it's usually very predictable and a big love-in.

I dont need your opinion of Steyn. Happy to read your response to what he said, though.

The point also needs to be made, we're assessing his actions from a safe, rational position. He had been locked up for more than 14 hours with absolute fear of not knowing what will happen. It would be so emotionally and physically exhausting that perhaps he just had enough. You can safely say...

Yes. Started by a person who actually displays the same behavior that she denounces. "Indeed. Usually the Muslims-fear-backlash crowd at least waits till the terrorist atrocity is over. In this case the desiccated multiculti saps launched the #I'llRideWithYou campaign even as the siege was...

I can only go by the information at hand. If the hostage was killed by the gunman, then as yet only one other death reported, that of the gunman, then the response has been as good as a success as we could have.

Skynews now reporting that it was the gunman that killed the hostage. I'm not critiquing the siege. I am critiquing the broader implications of it.. I am sad for those who has had their lives changed after an innocent trip to a cafe before work.

Going by the number of idiots that took "selfies" today... how many idiots will be getting along to the cafe "for a look". Yes I would stay home and spend time with your family, pets, or just some time alone... thats what i'll be doing.

Armchair experts. Like the ones that said something along the lines of 'he only has a shotgun, what are they waiting for'. Clueless. Our police wanted absolutely NO casualties, not to mention the threat of explosives. This guy was a lunatic, if they went in early it may have been a worse result.

It is, but I fear it could have been much worse. I commend the police who acted as best they could.

The thing is, there is so much in the Quran that promotes violence and so many in the Muslim community seem to support it. This isn't to say there aren't many good people who are muslims, but as a country we need to not be afraid to look at what is the number one security concern at this time.
