Points of Interest:

  • Carlton and Fremantle have the same 3-1 win-loss tally going in to the game, with only percentage keeping the navy blues on top.
  • Carlton are hurting after losing to Essendon on the weekend with Carrazzo, Laidler, and Yarran all succumbing to injury.
  • Doubt still surrounds Sandilands and Fyfe as to whether they will line up in the match, despite the club's positive prognosis.
  • Brett Ratten's wife is expecting their 3rd child the day after the match. Will his mind be elsewhere?

Who will win, by how much, and why?

Freo to win by 10 points in another close Friday night clash that will come down to the wire.

What say you?

All we need is the hospital to give Rats a call just into the second half stating his wife has gone into labour

having his mind off the job may actually help carlton

It is with great aprehension that i give my prediction, because I rarely tip us, because i always get bitten. And at the start of the year, i thought we would be 1-4 rather than 4-1... however, If sandilands plays, I think we can get hold of the blues.

Freo by 4 points

Well I have tipped us, but I am not confident. I think that there will be some great match-ups all over the ground, and a better looking game than our last couple.

Hope Sandi & Fyfe get up, if they do, 18 pts,
if no, maybe a goal at best.

Fyfe to come back into the side for a BOG performance, no injuries and we get the 4 points by running them out in the last qtr.

Freo by 17.

Interesting to note that Freo have won every 3rd qtr this year.
Must be the clear communication that Ross dishes out at half time! ;)

perhaps coinciding with one stephen hill going batshit.

mundy and barlow to take it to the carlton mids. mcphee to keep betts to a kick. mzungu perhaps on murphy, crowley on judd. freo by 15 points.

I recon your spot on with your match ups,Creepy much fitter than last year should be a good match up with Judd.....if not working give McPhee a crack,Mzungu can run all day and is much fitter/stronger than last year and should be able to make life difficult for Murphy.
The small forwards for Carlton will be the problem , so will have to make sure supply is limited

eeeeeeppppppp! Just a tad excited. My first game for the year and stoked its the Len Hall game. Cant wait!! Freo by 7 points :D

Dockers in a canter IMO.

That's not what you are saying on the Tank Board ??

creepy used to play well on judd a few years ago, before he became a fatty. that would be an interesting duel, and yeah, mzungu is the only one with the durability to run with murphy who we wouldn't necessarily have to sacrifice other elements of his game to play the position, ie. hill.
garlett's a real worry. not sure who's quick, nimble and smart enough. wonder if spurr or JWK will come in for him...

Freo by no more than 20 points

We have had a longer recoverry time and if we play like we did against the saints, but with at least *some* improvement in the clearances and first-possesion department, I can't see us losing

Getting first ball and denying Carlton a chance at an inside50 will be pivotal - also home-crowd advantage! get every man and his dog down to Subi wearing purple and screaming their ****ing heads off!

People will start mentioning Freo as a serious top 4 possibility after this game, Barlow to run amok and we play exciting footy.

A romp by more than 40pts.

The tankers will have a lot of support at Subi, always do. Particularly at a Friday night game !

Last week I didn't tip us as I wasn't confident only to be proven wrong and delighted in being proven wrong.

This week I'm oozing confidence that we can take the Blues down

Freo by 18 points in a cracker of a game which will be celebrated with drinks at the Irish @ Knox City, before, during and after the game :D
