I think they're just giving Pears some extra rest due to his history and importance for the rest of the year - and rewarding the current team.

Also trialing Carlisle more as a key back.

Things can be just as simple as they seem sometimes, you know.

Pears would be the perfect match up for Darling and Hooker for Lynch. It would allow Fletch to do his thing.
