I don't even know what you're referencing.

Was very much just an out of the box idea, floating stadium, Vegas strip, night life.
Maybe someone who actually follows soccer can enlighten but I remember catching a few mins of a show about a club in the UK and they had a home stadium called the stadium in the sky

I'm a huge football fan. Wellington home ground is called sky stadium.

Club legend and tonight's award's namesake Matera92 wound back the Teflon clock this season and has capped off a successful return to his favourite premiership wing with the Best Midfielder award. Always offering quality over quantity and providing a wise head for advice behind the scenes over the last few seasons, this achievement is proof that whilst form and fitness can wane, class never dies. Never one to add fluff posts for the sake of boosting posting numbers , his statistical dominance alone was enough to put him in All-SFA contention on the wing. Could this on-field re-emergence be a preview of a future #Matera4Mobbs run? Congratulations Matera92 - though we all know you couldn't have done it without Art Vandelay_ 's support

Season 32 Round 11 - Fighting Furies FFC 21.11 (137) defeated Las Vegas Bears 13.8 (86) at the Hippodrome
Writeup by tony, votes by Matera92

On a warm afternoon the Bears travelled to the Hippodrome to take on the Furies.

The 1st quarter was an evenly matched affair with the Bears taking a 2 point lead into the quarter time break. The 2nd quarter again was close and Cap kicked 2 goals back to back to give the Bears the lead late in the quarter. The turning point of the match was in the final minute of the quarter when the Furies kicked 2 goals to go into half time with an 11 point lead and from then on never gave up the lead.

In the 3rd quater Cap tried to keep the Bears in the game with his 4th goal for the game but the Furies kicked 4 goals to 2 to extend their lead.

In the final quarter the Furies kicked another 7 goals to pile on the misery for the Bears, the 51 point would prove costly to the Bears percentage.

With only 2 multiply goalscorers it was a tough day for the Bears.
Cap (5 Goals),I Dont Care (3 Goals), Terrybull (22 Touches, 1 Goal), Millky (22 Touches), Matera (20 Touches), Muddiemoose (17 Hitouts, 19 Touches, 1 Goal) were the best players for the Bears on the day.

OFFICIAL PROTEST:

Exhibit A: Courtesy Dingster match poster.

  • Toe to toe throughout, Matera92 either broke even with tigland or vaguely bested him - it was hard to tell. - 99m from 0 to 99.

How can a ‘man’ who plays ‘midfield’ accrue 13 touches and essentially break even with his opponent award himself 2 votes.

This round of voting MUST be struck from the record.

Throw him in the stockade.

NB: ‘___’ us being applied extremely loosely.

It is difficult to believe that this is I Dont Care 's first award of any kind here at the Bears , because this certainly does not reflect the impact that he has had on our team. A specialist gun midfielder from the Roys before being recruited here 3 seasons ago, he may not always show it and his name might suggest otherwise, but he does indeed care! Showing up each week even when life has affected others' (including my own) and posting with energy, class, wit and humour , he always volunteers to claim a non-prime spot . In fact, his spot on the wing this season was a unanimous LG decision after he selflessly played BP all of last season . IDC has also been a support for me behind the scenes during some tough times for me in life and at this club. This award recognises everything you have done for the Bears, both on-field and behind the scenes, and is proof that no formal title is required to be a true leader. Well done IDC - a true gun.

Season 32 Round 13 – East Side Phoenix 18.10 (118) defeated by Las Vegas Bears 21.14 (140) at The Eyrie

Writeup and votes by Millky95

On the continued hunt for a finals spot, in Round 13 the Bears came across the newly reformatted Phoenix. A strong opening term saw the Bears out to a 15 point lead but the defense got leaky and conceded 7 goals to 4 leading to a 5 point deficit going into the main break. From there though, the Bears switched gears and proceeded to dominate the 2nd half kicking 12 goals to take the victory by 22 points in a high scoring match.

kane249 and terrybull lead the way with 4 goals each whilst I Dont Care and Matrea92 had a combined 52 disposals. I Dont Care also lead the side when it came to posting, making 78 posts.

Season 32 Round 14 – Las Vegas Bears 9.9 (63) defeated by Gumbies FFC 16.10 (106) at The Stadium In The Sky

Writeup and votes by Millky95

After a strong attacking game the week before, the Bears ball movement was all at sea being goalless in the first half. Outmatched in the middle and forward of the ball the Bears ended up losing by 43 points in a game we would all rather forget.

Individually, Matera92 stood tall with 28 disposals whilst MWPP, TheTick and Cap were all multiple goal scorers. In posting MWPP lead from the front with I Dont Care close behind with both making over 60 posts for the game.

Season 32 Round 15 – Gold City Royals 16.11 (107) defeated by Las Vegas Bears 16.12 (108) at Golden Throne

Writeup and votes by Broken

After last weeks disappointing effort we faced a must win game against the Royals. The Royals were just inside the Top 8 and a Bears loss would almost end our finals hopes.

After a goalless first half last week we burst out the gates with Cap kicking a goal 76 seconds in to the game. From there, the Royals took a stranglehold on the quarter and we went in to the first break in a 4 goal hole.
Art Vandelay_ opened the 2nd quarter with his 3rd goal and a scoring run saw us peg back the deficit to 4 points. The Royals countered with a goal, but we kept the scoring pressure up to take a 3 point lead before two late Royals goals saw us go in to the changerooms 9 points down.
Art Vandelay_ kicked his 4th at the start of the 3rd before the Royals added to their lead with 2 goals. We responded with 4 goals and we kept the Royals at arms length, taking a 2 goal lead in to the last break.

The Royals kept at us, having the first 6 scoring shots of the 4th quarter - all behinds - before bl4ke kicked truly to give us some breathing room. However, the Royals kept up their scoring with 3 goals to have the lead with 6 minutes to go.
bl4ke had a long shot, and missed. Cap intercepted the kick-in, and missed. Which led to this :
4 : 22.1 {FB} - Nobody's checking CakeEater.
4 : 22.15 {rBP} - A quick handpass to MC Bad Genius.
4 : 22.19 {CHB} - That kick is a real floater.
4 : 22.23 {CHB} - But Art Vandelay_ is standing in the way and marks.
4 : 22.25 {CHF} - Art Vandelay_ signals for his teammates to present.
4 : 22.29 {FF} - Millky95 on the end of this.
4 : 22.33 {FF} - Millky95 steadies himself and has a shot ....
4 : 22.37 {FF} - It's bending baaaaaaack. What a goal from Millky95.
Gold City Royals : 16.11.107
Las Vegas Bears : 16.12.108

The Royals pushed forwards from the bounce, but the were repelled by tony and JoshWoodenSpoon. We pushed forward before the ball ended up in the Royals hands. They pushed towards their forward 50, and the siren sounded!

The Bears won! And results fell in our favour where next week would decide our finals destiny.

tony caps off his most active year to date and backs up a top 20 beez debut with a very-well deserved Captain's Award. As his teammate and friend, it has been an absolute privilege to watch him evolve from an inactive, mistakenly tagged poster to a quiet expansion rookie with a penchant for Simpsons gifs and to a talented leader , still with that knack for humour and graphics. He puts in a mountain of work around the site and within the club, and does not hesitate to help out in any way he can. Every single one of tonight's graphics were thanks to tony's hard work, and he stepped up at very short notice to help out with extra writeups too. tony is far too modest to take any of the credit he deserves for his many contributions across the board and he is truly an underrated gem of the SFA. It may not be much, but I hope this award hopefully goes some way towards showing just how much I and the rest of the LG appreciate everything you do. Congratulations tony - I can't wait to see what you have in store in coming seasons.

pantskyle , league legend and new S32 Las Vegas Bears Hall of Fame Inductee is the next to arrive on the Red Carpet

Congratulations pantskyle on your long-overdue induction into the Las Vegas Bears Hall Of Fame. You've had a wonderful career in the SFA and remain an instrumental figure in our history - quite simply, we would not exist without you. We are honoured that you have accepted this invitation and were able to be with us tonight at very short notice .

Firstly, who are you sitting with tonight, and who dressed you?

I am with Matera and we dressed each other.

What are some of your favourite early memories of and at the Bears?

The whole period at the Bears was incredible, we had an amazing core of extremely funny and clever posters who were just happy to shoot the sh*t with everyone, we had fun and enjoyed the adventure. Obviously it was a highlight bringing the team back into the league but I think to do so with a very good group topped it off, was never boring. I was content and proud to be able to tick it off as job complete as pass the reigns onto the next brigade. I was proud when the flag was won, a little envious of course. I was more proud that the club continued to carry on that casual clever posting. Powerful unit. Also loved when Matera knifed DJ. I would hope the story is not complete and one day I return as the one true King of Vegas (sorry matera).

Do you have any advice for younger Bears players?

Younger Bears or even rookies in general, just be yourself, see how that works and if it fails change slightly but don't lose your identity, don't be afraid to have a gimmick as stupid as it might be. When I came into the league besides being a spamming smart arse I brought the team (The Roys) a new pair of pants to wear each match, incredibly lame. But here I am, one hundred seasons later still being lame. Just have fun and don't take sh*t was us veterans who mainly complain just to be involved.

Twin Matera's and a pantskyle
We're about to break all the PornHub records.

Richly deserved tony. I don't know how you do it, but you sure do it good. Thanks for all your work throughout the season including tonight - always lifts the occasion and gives a good giggle.

This party might not be on a Friday, but no event would be complete without legendary retiree AceAndy

Good evening AceAndy . Who are you sitting with tonight, and who dressed you?

As far away from the nerds table (you and por_please_ya ) as i can get. Hopefully i will run into my old friend Test Tickle.

This seems like a trick question as i went to the wardrobe and just picked the first suit. Rebecca is wearing Rebecca Vallance or possibly J'Aton

What's your pre-event routine?

I will be sticking to my usual morning routine of champagne and cocaine.

Finally, any words of advice for our young qooty players?

Enjoy the match threads and ask plenty of questions , there is a lot of great people on the Sweet FA but unfortunately quite a few arse-holes. Hopefully you can put up with it longer than i could.
Merry Christmas everyone.
