Technically not room service (as in no food etc for free). But if I need new toilet paper, shampoo, soap etc.. it's provided instantly when requested at reception or it's brought up asap.

Last place I stayed at was similar, but housekeeping was done daily. Including towels and pillow change.

Its excellent news. Its just weird the media has taken its time to report it. The winds have been slowing since 1am. Clearly the cyclone wasnt going to hit us and was being downgraded to not even being a cyclone anymore.

Finally media is now reporting this.

"Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred has been downgraded to a tropical low" - ABC Think this means if you're going to watch it on TV today it might be boring

Weekend sunrise "Special extended coverage" is still hyping it up. "It's a monster"
Endless loops of the same trees lighting up on power lines. It's quite amusing watching them try to keep the Special extended coverage interesting. About 8 reporters on split screen with just a nice breeze blowing behind them. One just saying he saw some people jogging and they were absolutely "Crazy!"
Erghh, this is nauseating to watch now I'm bailing and try to find an old movie to watch.

Anyone else noticed the rainfall predictions have dramatically fallen but they are still making out like its a massive number that will drive city wide flooding.

2 days ago they were talking 800mm over 3 days. Thats bigger them the 2022 floods of 600-700 mms.

Now they are talking 200-300mms over 3 days. Thats just a typical worst weekend rain of the year event.

This is the latest rain chart, This is pending that it actually crosses the coast.

Channel 7: the clean up of the cyclone may be able to begin as early as tomorrow night.

Channel 9: the flow on effect of the cyclone will drag on for days maybe even weeks

Throw a dart and it'll land somewhere I guess.

One thing Ive learned out of this:

Brisbane is well protected from cyclones due to the islands and the fact most of brisbanes people live well away from the coast.

But lets watch our insurance premiums all go through the roof.
