Was apart of a game on Saturday where Forest Hill Cricket Club First XI in the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association's top grade (McIntosh Shield) made 0/425 from their allotted 80 overs. Openers Ben Johnston (201*) and Charles Erasmus (200*) batted through the entire innings. Was wondering if anything of this sort has occurred before at local level or if any of you guys have been involved in a similar situation before?

Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli put on a 664 run partnershi[ in a famous Indian school boys match several years ago.

Some Indian sports association burnt that scorecard because it was too oldo_O

If it was Australia it would get chased down next weekend :D Seriously though that is a long long day for a fielding side

From what I've gathered it's not exactly a strong competition anyway.

Last season my side (Glen Iris) mad 467 with our pom, Jack Taylor who plays for Gloucestershire, making 210

i'll see your 0/425 from 80 and raise you 0/400+ from 40 overs

Guy i know did it on some postage stamp ground (where they don't even play anymore it's that small)

Bloke I know made a double ton, about 180 of it was in boundaries

Were they playing at Dorothy Laver West by any chance? We stopped playing there this year

nah somewhere in richmond/south yarra area.

Apparently there isn't even a pitch there anymore (this was like 15 years ago, maybe more)

I play in the 3rds of that club. the guys said they stayed pretty up beat (or as up beat as you could) and it got to the point where it didn't matter what they did it wasn't going to work. apparently the last ball one of the guys was 198 and they had hit a single and the bowler kicked the ball away out of frustration of a long day so they got back for the 2nd to bring up the double.

its a very fast ground at the slowest of times too. through infield and its 4 usually.

I think we are trying to find if any of their players are unregistered or did wear official club colours/cricket uniform so that they are docked runs/points hahaha

In under 15's our club team hit a district record of 346/6 in a 55 over game. It's probably broken now 6 years on.

The biggest unbroken opening partnership I have heard of in Australian cricket is 467 by P. Williams (216*) and N. West (226*), playing for J Bayley & Sons VS Marcus Clark in Sydney in 1928-29.

The biggest opening partnership of all in Aussie cricket is 521 by H. Bourke (201) and H. Gunstone (334) playing for St. Andrew's VS Methodist in Ararat in 1965-66.
