Ah man, I was hoping our membership video would be the NFL on Fox theme playing, as it showed highlights of the 2013 season, with the words ''THE TIME HAS COME'' at the end. :(

I like it.. us much as anyone can like these kinds of things.. didn't give me chills but at least we didn't go down the hashtag path again..

The bit I like the most was Bomber Thompson in an article:
Since taking on the senior coaching role Thompson said he has spoken with banned coach James Hird, but not extensively.

"We have spoken but not that often," Thompson said.

"We don't want to cause any problems there at all so he knows that I'll take care of his team."

Personally, I think the AFL have just poked the bear and this team, and our club, have got a lot of payback to dish out.. I think Caro is going to be sorely disappointed to see that the whole club is united and clear on our future... her entire efforts of 12 months amounted to nothing but EFC becoming stronger.. how is that for proof we are a great club??

I think Hirdy and Bomber would be in constant dialogue personally...
I don't know about that. If the media was to get hold of conversations? Worse still, if they tried to meet and talk privately in an effort to dodge the media then that would be even more sensational as a story. I reckon they will have worked something out fortnightly or so, but i doubt they would risk anything much more frequent than that.

I would imagine it would be best to stay out of trouble on that front.. I think the implicit understand is there.. of what direction they had both decided to head three years ago.. and that Bomber is going to honour that direction whilst ensuring the right changes are made..

I just think there is a lot of trust between the two men and that 'transition back' isn't going to be the problem the media will want.. I think they are both exceptional individuals who only want the best for the team/club.

How is the media really going to keep track of that, though?

Tapping their phones? I'd like to think our papers aren't quite at News of the World levels just yet...

Yeah, I would imagine no emails and no text messaging.. and no 'secret' meetings in cafes!!

So what you guys are saying is that 'former' (albeit temporary) colleagues and good mates will barely talk for 12 months because they might get caught talking? I don't see how the AFL can bar them chatting a couple of times a week. Unless Hirdy is holding post match reviews at his place with the players, I don't see that he is doing much wrong by chatting with Bomber occasionally...

True. Face to face meetings might get them in trouble with the media, but i can't see how private phone conversations could... As long as the media didn't get hold of an itemized phone bill that showed daily calls between them. What they could do is get another club member to swing by Hirds house, then Hird can use their phone to call Bomber ;) So totally "Underbelly" our club. It's the lies, drugs and deception! It spirals out of control!

Nah, disposable phones man!

I like the message they are pushing this year.
Sounds to me like they are saying, 'Essendon football club is 140 years of history, 2012-2013 is only a small part of that'.

Wow. I hate to be suspicious or anything, but really? First post? Push the message on BF? ;)

Snapchat would work.

"Hey Hirdy, check out this pic of my dilz. Also what do you think about the defensive structures this week?"

Almost spat out my drink over the keyboard. :thumbsu:
