If the ladder ends up the same next year would be interesting to see
who Melbourne and West Coast would pick up.

At this stage I would have the order as

1.Butcher Melbourne
2.Lucas West Coast
3.Scully Melbourne
4.Christensen West Coast

Lets hope that doesn't happen I dont think I could stand another year 100 points+ defeats.

Luke Thompson's another one to watch out for next year. Probably won't go first round, but should get drafted.

Christensen would have to grow a fair bit to go that high ... listed 175cm in the U18 Championships lists but looks even smaller than that. Can't remember too many blokes going top 5 at that height in the recent past.

another two ballarat boys, ben peters and oliver tate both very talented midfielders of wingman and have the body to go straight into it.

a couple of boys from oakleigh i watched last year impressed me and should have a chance

purcell- strong, hard working backmen, real competitor
hoegal- great goalsneak, reads play well and good workrate
thompson- ideal body, runs with it and strong

thoughts?

Yeah, he just missed out on getting drafted this year (underrage) but next year he has a good chance of getting picked up.

PS - If you like music, head to the Bomber Board in 'The Hangar' section, they've got some music wars happening and it would be helpful if we got some more voters.

so who do we think the top 5 or 10 is at this stage
i know its very early but what people saw from this season and development who do you think will be in the top range

John Butcher (VIC)
Kane Lucas (WA)
Tom Scully (VIC)

There's three off the top of my head that are almost guarenteed to be a top 10 pick. We will know a lot more about the talent coming through the ranks throughout next season's TAC Cup and when the WAFL, etc start getting into their respective seasons.

Now we're asking a little to much and getting a little to in depth.

We haven't started the season yet, and won't be soon, so lets worry about what kids could be getting drafted first then we can start putting 1 & 1 together.

Anything can happen in a year and players pop up during the year but if he stay healthy, i can't see him dropping out of the top 5 TBH, exceptional talent.

very true, Butch has a very slight frame as well and has had plenty of niggles in his time. I'm confident/hopeful he'll stay healthy and dominate next season as tho. very modest and knows he has plenty of work to do next season

Can anyone tell me anything about the following players.

Dale Arsmtrong (SA)

Brad Sheppard (WA)

Luke Tapscott (SA)

Jeremy Kirkwood (NSW)

Are they Top 25 prospects?

I think its way too early to tell. But people so far are right, Scully and Butcher shouldnt have a long wait for their names to be called out.

Whatever happens, one thing I do know is that bolters will come out of the pack. 12 months ago I'm sure the talk was about Naitanui and Rich. When a season of footy goes by, Jack Watts leaps into #1 and Stephen Hill work all the way up to pick #3. There will be guys out there who have growth spurts, or who've filled out, or who've matured mentally and will return in 2009 as changed players.

I'm not a fan of starting rankings until mid year, once I've tested the product I know what price tag to put on it.

Hey everyone,

whats people's thoughts on Matt Hill of Norwood? He's almost 19 and injury hampered his chances of getting drafted this year. Good build on him and has played both up forward and in the middle.

He has no idea what the concept of an opponent is.

Ball magnet but who cant be when you run around without a care in the world.

Not up to AFL standard with his skills either.
