09 draft prospects

oooo very very tough question.. i'm not game to have a crack.. top 3 i reckon right now has to be..

John Butcher
Kane Lucas
Tom Scully

then other names that will be mid to late first round right now would be your Koby Stevens, Bastinac, Priest, Mangan's etc.. tbh i don't know a heck of a lot about the 09' draft just yet.. and bar lucas i only really know about Victorian prospects

just a quick one.. Koby Stevens is one to watch next year folks.. already claimed him as "my boy" for next year.. very very powerful midfielder.. strong, punishing tackler, penetrating kick, very good overhead and is one of those midfielders who always seems to have at least 1 goal next to their name each week.. watch this space

not really
they all say 2008, im askin about 2009

yeah sorry bud, was in a hurry when i wrote it. sorry,

is hard to gauge, at the moment you would have to have Scully as the number 1 pick, has played against the bigger bodied under 18s, and played well, Butcher would be very high aswell, not sure though, we dont know much about any of the other teams, Chris Hall from S.A, played as a bottom ager this year, played really well too.

Wouldn't call him bottom-age he's 18 (25-Jun-1990) and will get drafted this year.

some one that played as double bottom ager is Steven May for NT. would have to go top 10 played U18 and U16 for nt

Yer Steven May if he is eligible next year looks like a definately top 10 and even 5 pick at this stage the gold coast is looking very likely for him to end up there.
I've been talking this guy up for ages. He is absolutley aMAYzing

EDIT: he is elegible, im pretty sure his birthday is in January

A Player i believe will go high in the 2009 draft is Liam Jones from Tasmania. He is a AIS scholarship holder who is not eligible for this year. He is around 195 cm i believe and plays as a CHF/CHB and has wonderful hands and running ability. I watched him play against my school in the APS before he injured his knee meaning he missed the carnival. Anyone else know of him? thoughts?

Can tell you he has opted to nominate for this years draft in an attempt to avoid going to the Gold Coast next year. Will be a huge steal for any club that can get him with a third round selection or later as he would be in the first round next year.

he does realize the gold coast don't have any priority picks next year right? all they have is first access to Q'Land players

Saints should be interested. His father Bob played for them. Did'nt make it to 100 games though.

Davis- Neale south

There the SA Boys

Good 2 see that someone knows about thier SA juniors. Got some great talent coming through as meantioned above. Very respected opinion you hold, not sure about Davis- Neale, talented undoubtedly but workrate and desire requires huge improvement if he wishes to play league. Have you by any chance heard of up-and-coming youngster Aaron Killian? Initially more of an athlete but has been training under tha watchful eye of Fuller out at eagles. has only just broken into the reserves side due to previous injuries late last year and early this year. Still athletic as hell with a 120cm vertical and 11.5 100m. has developed into a great ruckman/KPP and at 198cm has the height and verstalilty to play a number of roles in AFL. Go check him out if ya have the chance many are touting him as the next big thing despite going under tha radar largely for tha last few years. Let us know your thougts, cheers mate.

Like the look of Scully and Harwood

Scully - Really explosive, runs to the ball, always moving at contests
Harwood - Got a great handball on him

Not up to speed on changing draft-age rules and the rest of it, is 17 the cutoff date for 09 draft, and will May be 17 in January then?

Haha, is there seriously a guy from Sturt called Jack Trengove?
Bulldogs blitz luckless opponents to take flag
Club observers from across the nation descended on Adelaide for the full point to the season and to assess draft and trade prospects on the big stage.

They would have taken special note of 20-year-old Bulldog Brayden O'Hara's spearing left foot during his fine game from half-back/wing, and 17-year-old schoolboy Jack Trengove's three sublime goals in the reserves grand final.
