Fair call benchman1- still a lot to play out over the next 5 weeks... at both ends of the ladder! They would probably dominate Div 1 if they played. You make it sound like if they went down, all of a sudden these superstars would make themselves more available?
Mark Tasiyan (ex St Kilda City) at Monbulk would dominate division 2 also. But I dunno about all this talk of locking them in for relegation yet anyway. We're talking about a team that was actually in front of Wandin at half time, down by less than a goal at 3/4 time, and a similar story when they played Belgrave. They seem pretty close to the mark for 2-3 quarters of a game, just need to finish it off. And they play all of Emerald, Gembrook and Mt Evelyn in the coming weeks, where as Gembrook have 3 finals contenders to play in that time, and Mt Evelyn have a couple also. Results from Monbulk/Gembrook this week and Emerald/Mt Evelyn next week will probably tell the story for relegation status.
It's a fair point Monbulk have Wandin and Upwey out of the way and have been competitive against both at different times this year. Tasiyan, Coole and McCormick keep playing this year and they will trouble a few teams

All quiet on the forum.
Things are becoming more interesting every week.
Massive game between Olinda and Warby as well as Mt ev v emerald to grab the 5th spot.
Belgrave are now finals bound and Gembrook/ Monbulk have a major battle to stay up.
I think round 18 is going to be huge with mon v emerald and gem v olinda.
We'll see this weekend if there is a gap between Wandin and Upwey. I saw 2nd half of the Upwey v Olinda game and upwey just took the game game right away from Olinda.
I think I will have a re-think about final 5, who gets relegated and who survives but based on my previous predictions, i will keep them to myself. Must say, Mt Evelyn are looking good for a late charge at finals, only a few weeks ago they were in the relegation battle. They are a fierce tackling team that when they sustain it, they generally win.
1 game and some healthy %age between 6th and last, maybe AFL should look at the YV equalisation program, it seems to be working.
Wandin V Upwey the pick of the games this week. Both teams have shown that they are probably a little ahead of the rest of the competition.
Belgrave and Woori would be entitled to be in the same conversation. At least with Wandin any way all the more since Belgrave have fixed them up twice and Woori are the best finals side going around.
Gee scrolling through the scores looks like the tigers/dogs game was a clear game of two halves. Monster comeback by the wandin boys by the looks of it.
Monbulk?????? Who would have tipped that? And what to make of woori?
Gembrook in a tonne of strife for mine, big fall from grace for the spud pickers.
The best finals side in the comp beaten by 50 points.
the woori tigers were beaten by a more disciplined hungry sideDidn't know finals started today.

well done to Monbulk!
the clubs that have success at the business end of the year needs
a/ abit of luck with injuries
b/ a game plan that stacks up
c/ a desire to win
happy to be proven wrong but I think the top 5 is set, what order remain to be seen
relegation is still a 3 horse race, and one club will look back at those close games and have too start planning to get back in div 1
the Upwey /wandin game has thrown up more questions than answers
how did we dominate for a half?
how did they dominate for a half?
I don't think Upwey dominated at any stage even though they got out to an eleven goal lead. It sounds crazy, but we (Wandin) had more of the ball and definitely had the ball in our forward half for longer periods but we kept missing simple set shots.. Upwey punished us a number of times on the fast break and had a very open forward line. I thought we just had to kick a couple of quick goals to be in it early in the second half but thought the door had slammed shut by three quarter time. I still can't believe we kicked nine goals in the final term in heavy rain. These boys have enormous spirit.
I think the Wandin Upwey game shows that these two teams when at their best are very hard to stop. Both teams have 3 more games to fine tune as both have locked in a double chance already.
I predict a big finals and word on finals venues yet?
Anywhere but Gembrook.
I heard Gembrook.
Please tell us your joking. The worst finals venue possible.
Pretty much every team in the comp hates playing finals at gembrook except for gembrook. All clubs should write into the league expressing their thoughts on playing at gembrook! Then maybe, just maybe the league will finally listen. Please tell us your joking. The worst finals venue possible.

Have heard Junction are making a big play for a grand final but i'm tipping woori or healesville will get it. No atmosphere at healesville so hopefully woori
Im sure they know but they continue to play finals there. Every year Billy tells us its the first windy day theyve had since the last time we all got blown off the face of the earth there.
If I only had two punches, i'd hit swann twice! No a bad round for you this week MS, but does anyone really want that 5th position? One question for you though. Swann and Pieterson are standing next to each other and you're only allowed one punch. Who would you hit?
