Yep. Proves what we all knew about Dean.

Not sure we need this sort of crap anymore. Not sure our players need this crap anymore.
What does it bloody prove you twit? The NMFC doesnt pay Hamish to be hanging around with A list wankers. They pay him to play football. The coach has every right to question whether one of his players is not fully committing themselves to the team.

What sort of coach do you honestly want for the club Nick? Someone who will just let the players cruise along and let them do what ever they want.

Get a ****ing clue FFS.

FFS. You and Nick really need to ****ing go down to the club and actually see what it takes to be an afl footballer and the work that goes into being a coach and a player at the top level.

Im backing Dean because he is right. You might think its ok for footballers to get out on the piss and smoke joints and pop pills but are you really fair dinkum about your footballing career if you are doing that sort of shit?

I honestly think that not one of our players would have made it as a footballer in the 90's. There is to much hero worship going on with footballers today and most of them think they are Gods gift and superstars and they arent willing to put in the work to become successful.

If this club is to go anywhere we need players who are 100% behind the cause. Not players hob nobbing it up with Lillian Frank.

I back up both the coach and player. It depends who's right or wrong.

You back the coach every single ****ing time.

Paul Medhurst's missus was the best on the night.

Classy, stunning, frigging hot and had that nice girl look - You know she'd be a demon in the sack :D

Seen her in some magazine sometime ago too

And I am well within my rights to do that. He is right in this instance.

So how about you get of your ****ing high horse and stop whinging about something Laidley said when there would have been a coach in professional sports who would not say the same thing.

If players arent going to be fair dinkum about there football **** them off.

What if Hamish puts in all the hard work and parties.

How is Laidley right?

Im not implying anything. Im saying that players who cant be disciplined enough to stay away from shit like drugs and at least keep there alcohol consumption in moderation then you have to question how much they really want to be professional footballers.

From the article ''not totally committed to the AFL lifestyle and was seen too often in the social pages.''

There is no mention of drugs or anything explicit there aside from the fact he goes out occasionally.

However, I see your point that if they aren't completely dedicated to their footy, then we would probably prefer them elsewhere, but this being Macca, whom we've invested 6 years into, I'd rather we tried to turn this around rather than float him as a trade.

We can then see if Laidley can turn him back around and get him fighting fit for the next season.

How is Laidley right?
He has to be willing to put in the hard yards first.

Laidley is right because as soon as Hamish cut down his socialising and worked on his fitness he became as you put it an elite player.

Hamish has obviously admitted to himself that he wasnt fair dinkum and took steps in the right direction.

This post doesnt make sense at all.

Hamish became elite last year. There was no trouble with him last year. He worked on his fitness last year. This has nothing to do with Hamish not putting in the hard yards at training, he does plenty of that. He has come a long way in term of fitness and that was the only thing holding him back.

FFS, get it through your head. If your saying that Laidley is the reason why some of the players are locked up at home instead of out there doing stupid things then what does that say about Dean when shit happens like it did last year at that Lionel Richie concert?

Anyway, all you know is to throw insults & defend your Dean.

Though how could he be fair dinkum in 08,when he was on the sidelines. No one was gunna be fit after 10 weeks on the side lines where he couldn't run and barely walk.

So far it's been Harris,Jones,Shagga,Swallow,McIntosh and Wells. Fine put them on the spot but don't blame a loss all because of them. That's what Laids does.

The article sounds as though they are refering to what Hamish was like pre 07. Even though it did say that it was speculation that Laidley didnt think he was suited to an AFL lifestyle and it is a Jon Ralph article.

If he wasn't suited to an AFL style why'd we waste 6 years of development on him?

Why would an issue in 08 have anything to do with pre 07? He's improved, he got better so why go back to the past when he was in the AA top 40 and became the most improved ruckman in the league. Unless he went back to socialising again???

Hamish McIntosh likely to stay a Kangaroo

Jon Ralph | October 08, 2008 12:00am

Rival clubs said they did not inquire about McIntosh on Monday, but were told he was available at the right price.

None of the remaining clubs eager for ruckmen contacted McIntosh's management yesterday.

Most yesterday felt the Kangaroos were posturing with McIntosh, who is on holiday with teammates in Las Vegas.
Says it all really. Laidley, master of trade week...

I am saying that the disciplined actions of the players has alot to do with rules set by the coaching staff and the leadership group. Obviously if the players didnt believe in the rules then we would have much bigger problems than what occured at the Lionel Ritchie concert.

Yes lets talk about my Dean. That would be Premiership player Dean. That would be brave enough to put yourself in front of Lockett Dean. That would be the Senior Coach of the NMFC Dean.
He deserves a little bit more respect than what he is getting. All he did was fall out with a player. It happens. Stiff shit. I dont see the need to hang him from the nearest tree.

You are obviously the expert on all things that happen within the walls of Arden St so you must be able to tell what the players think of him and how things are run down at Arden St despite probably never stepping inside a door to the place.

Maybe because you hope that the player wakes up to themselves at some point and realises that football can be over pretty quick smart and if you want to make it a career you need to work hard and make alot of sacrifices.

Ask John Ralph, he wrote the article.
